Thomann CTM-700 Reviews
Great product
I really like this product, however it would be nice if there is a more detailed manual. The information it has is very scarce and difficult to understand. After you understand how it works and what you have to do, the process is straightforward and accurate
Tuner
great tuner very sensitive
Pros - Very clear large display picks up even acoustic bass strings, Price excellent, You even get a plug in clip on mic
Cons - None
Slow and inconsistent
I tried this with my bass guitar but it was slow and results were inconsistent. If I plucked a string 10 times, it might show in-tune 6-8 times, flat once or twice and sharp once or twice.
It wasn't worth the cost to return it to Germany so I bought another from elsewhere that gives much more consistent results.
The tuner is very quality and precise. I would recommend it to everybody who needs precise tuner for less money.
Contained more than I thought
I bought this tuner mainly just to tune, and I read that this was capable of doing that, so I bought it.
When I started it up I was a little bit confused though of what every knob does, and so I accidental put on a metronome (Which I didn't even know it had), which was a nice feature to have and use it to practice now, but at first I didn't know how to turn it off. SO I spend about 5-10 minutes figuring that out. Though, I didn't read the manual to be honest, I could've probably found it in there.
But yeah, it can tune my guitar, which was the reason I bought it, and it does that perfectly, no trouble.
Great Cheap Tuner
I needed a extra tuner to replace a Korg that I stepped on.
This is a great inexpensive tuner ! I don't use the metronome but it appears to work in case you need it.
Accuracy is great, and a bright display that is easy to read. Absolutely nothing to complain about.
Excelent
I use it to check my tuning, excelent for alternate tunings, but also as a metronome. I tryed the included mic but also the electric jack.
Very versatille, good for guitars but also for violin, ukulelle, mandolin and bass.
Cool gadget
This will come in handy, trust me. You get a metronome and decent tuner (mic or jack). Bunch a features, doesn't break easily, and its cheap.
Just get one :)
better than I expected
It is better than I expected, my criterion was a fast response, it should not confuse or stuck somewhere. It has satisfied me, it also has a metronome, it would have been perfect in case it had the ability to show the frequency of the sound that is capturing but you get what you paid for, I believe for the money it is good and meets my demands.
Simple to use and very affordable!
The instructions card was clear and concise, and the tuner was simple to use. The mic was very sensitive, I didn't need the jack input at all. Batteries included, so it could be used immediately!
Tuner and metronome in one, all you need
Great unit, I used to have a tuner and a separate metronome. Having them combined is great, one less thing to forget.
Operation is simple and easy to figure out. Be aware this is a multi-instrument tuner so it's very slightly more complex than a guitar only one, in that pressing one of the buttons switches between instruments. No bother thought and obviously great if you play multiple instruments!
Tuning accuracy matches my other tuners using the microphone and plug in cable. It comes with a headstock attachment also which I'm sure also works fine.
Metronome volume is good.
For this price buy a few and leave them around the house and in your gig bag!
Just good
Compared to a few others, which I have home, this is a really nice gadget and considering the price you cannot really miss with it.You can tune, you can train rhytm and speed and that is most likely everything you expect from a tuner.
In terms of tuning there are two option - microphone and cable. If you have electric guitar, you will obviously have to use cable, but for acoustic guitars it seems that you can pick whichever suits you better as the pick-up quality is the same.
I have only one complaint which is that the cable with attachment is quite short and I have knocked the whole thing from the table or even my legs a few times. Additional 20 centimeters would be nice, but is is sufficient as it is.
works great
This has everything a tuner can have, plus yu got metronome and different beats to practise with plus tempo regulations, tuning option for specified string instruments guitar, bass, violin, ukulele etc. it comes with a pair AAA size batteris, and it has a lil stand at the back which can be used tp rise up the main body. It response quickly.
Fully recommend this product
i have to say this is not only a good piece of kit it looks much more expensive than it actually is. It comes with a microphone pick-up as well for the acoustic guitar as. Usually the more expensive ones you have to buy that as well. The display is large and bright blue so you can see it well enough, the letters and numbers are thick black so stand out against the back drop. Probably sounds sad to get this excited over a guitar tuner but i do highly recommend this to everyone will not be disappointed and you can spend the extra money on something else.
Quality product
First of all, I bought it only for tuning. Didn't think even trying to use metronome.
After few months of using it, had a chance to teach a youngster a guitar... He got in love with the metronome.
Both of these options are great and useable, only problem I had was clip, it didn't work for me, but as I didn't use it anyway for me it wasn't anything that special.
To sum up, this is great, good quality with good features product that every guitarist could use.
Amazing
The tuner is just amazing. Especially for the price. It's well build, accurate, metronome is great, with many options and it's quite loud.
For me the only black mark is how quickly it goes to stand by mode. But this is not even close to be a deal breaker.
Everything perfect but tracing display delays
Really flexible tuner with good visibility and features.
But I find it close to unusable for tuning - tracing is slow with 1-2s delay.
So hard to use really when you have to stay for 5-10s or so on a string to know if it's in tune or not.
Tried both for guitar and bass, and with vibrator and cable, some thing.
Those that have similar display, like Snark, are really easy and fast to use - you are done in a sec. It flickers quickly between measurements which I prefer.
If adjusting internal software on chips, CTM-700 would be a killer tuner. Well thought out in every other aspect but tuning.
Brilliant little tuner
I've had this for a few years now and it really is one of the best little tuners I've ever had - beats my Korg tuner hands down, for accuracy and range of features. Great bit of kit for the money!
Does the screen turn off?
The metronome had many features but the sound was too bad to listen. Was like an alarm, impossible to play with that on the background. With the cable plugged in the tuner worked ok but the internal microphone didn't work properly and the cable for the clip is very short. I didn't find the way to shut down the backlight of the screen except taking out the batteries.
Brilliant little device.
I like this little device, easy to use and has a good display. I find it is easier to use than the smaller clip on tuners which can sometimes be fussy on where they are placed on the headstock.
I just place this tuner near the guitar and it locks onto the tuning very quickly.
