A bit of silly fun

Bought for a friend in my local ukulele group who collects kazoos. The slide doesn't alter the pitch of the note being played but he loves it anyway!

Proper Kazoo

Well it's a properly sounded Kazoo. I don't know if it is the original, because many manufacturers claim the originality of the instrument, but it serves my purposes (sound design). I don't really like the trombone outfit, but it does not bother anything.

Bit of a dissapointment

I saw this and i thought YES this is very cool. Umpulsive as i am i instantly bought it only to find out later that the trombone part is only esthetic, it doesn't manipulate the sound wich i think is a bummer. The trombone doesn't respond very well to lower pitched humming, it does react very well to higher pitches. I mainly use it to annoy my girlfriend. I'll update when she breaks up with me!

Most fun you can have with a bad instrument.

Kazoos are a joke of a musical instrument and this is the funniest retelling of that joke.

It's about as usable as any other kazoo but I'd recommend it mostly for jamming with friends rather than in a professional recording setting. It's cheap and a nice trinket to have around a home studio. Kerrin Connolly on youtube makes real nice use of it, that convinced me to get it. I'm not upset I got it.

Sorry - but I just don't get the great reviews for this product

Yes - it's basically a toy so maybe my expectations were too high but to me it sounds awful - not the lovely tight sound you get from a decent kazoo - more of an ugly rattle. The slide is almost impossible to move which spoils the fun and whilst the desciption alludes to the fact that you can replace the diaphram - I'm pretty sure you can't !!

It looks great and is a fun idea - but the execution is poor. I also bought the trumpet and feel similar about that - shoddy sticky valves and a poor rattly sound.

Maybe I should live with it for a while. But so far very unimpressed and I so wanted to love it !

Looks funnier than it sounds

As kazoos go, this little item works perfectly well. However, the trombone part of it is purely aesthetic, you can't trombone or slide the kazoo sound.

That said, this is one of the funniest items you can have in a bag of tricks, especially for kids to play with.
