Really cool exotic sounds

Very happy with this gong.Produces cool exotic sounds with very long sustain.Resonates nicely both when struck harder or more gently with a mallet. Adds plenty of woodoo vibe in a live band situation.I will buy more of that kind for sure!

Perfect for my needs!

This was a purchase for a very specific need (though I may use it for other things in the future): It's for performances of the string quartet Black Angels, by American composer George Crumb!

This piece requires two tam-tams to be played by members of the quartet. We have always hired these in the past, but decided to splash out and buy them this year.

I was firstly pleasantly surprised by the relatively low price, and then even more pleased by the quality and, most importantly, the sound. I think this (along with the other size I bought) will be perfect for this piece, and seems a good overall instrument - though I'm not a professional percussionist!

Packaging was good, delivery (as always) was quick, and the tam tam comes with a basic beater which will be fine for our needs.

Excellent value!
