The clarity of preamps and the warmth of the sound is unbeatable to other thunderbolt audio/midi cards I've tried from all the companies who make them throughout my years in the business! So Universal Audio Apollo is a class by it self and highly recommended to all musicians, producers and composers out there!

Great sound, love the simplicity of the design

After almost 15 years as a voiceover, going through audio interfaces from M-audio and Focusrite, i decided to make my Neumann shine. And this one really makes your gear sound better!

What I didn't really enjoyed (but is understandable with all the features) is the installation. Coming from much simpler interfaces, having to download, start, restart was a bit annoying. But after that, everything was pretty simple.

Another inconvenience is coming from the need of buying (pretty expensive) plugins. For example, I love the sound of Avalon VT 737 as a hardware and the pluging in the UA was pretty good. But having to pay 200+ Euro for this isn't the best experience. Also loved the Manley plugin (about the same price).

Overall, you get a great sounding interface, an Apple design, pretty easy to use and the possibility to have multiple famous hardware for a fraction of the price.

I bought this to figure out why it is so expensive. And I understood everything after the first use. First-class hardware, fastest software, comfortable control, perfect performance — and it's all in one small device. Using plugins with no latency, it's something incredible!

i didnt expect so much audible difference but i am blown away.

this interface is for now and in my opinion the way to get professional recording sound into small home studio. highly recommended. plus with the plug ins bundle that came with it everything sounds really good and i really can hear all the subtle nuances.

This thing is so Cool it's a no brainer in this price range.

2 DSP is sufficient for tracking but for any serious mixing you really also need a satellite.

It's great as a monitor control if you already have rack mounted apollos.

i use the product for my home studio. the sounds is very good.

this is absolutely high end product.

the only thing i do not like that i need to use my aircondition to keep the apollo in a normal temperatue. but this is only if you live in hot or humid environment like mine :)

Amazing interface, and outstanding hardware emulations. Really took my recording to the next level!

the apollo twin is brillint, the sound is good, and the UADs have a lot of classic plug-ins. I am very like it. But it is very hot when use it for a while

Game Changer

This interface is great, sounds & looks great, and is a very good addition to your studio/homestudio. Although its states that is is compatible with Windows, make sure your computer has a TB3 input,or function for a addon card with a TB header. If you use Mac you should be good and maybe only have to buy a TB3 to TB adapter. Also saying this is a interface is selling it short, it has a great workflow with their unique control centre and their plugin bundle is really good. The converteron this interface is also very good and with their unison preamp technology u basicly have one of the best preamps for a budget ready to use! Game changer interface!

Fantastic all in all !

I'll try to make it short and useful but there is so much to say !

First of all the build quality is purely off the charts. If we except the slightly too stiff and clicky face buttons, the whole device is made of metal, the connections are extremely solid (the power socket even has a lock system to avoid accidental removal) and the main knob is just great.

The handling is great, connections are easy to access, the UAD control panel is very straight forward and switching between headphone/speaker is easy and fast. My only negative feeling is going towards the face buttons, honestly not very clear in their function, and some of them I just never really figured out what the hell they do.

Soundwise it is as good as it can possibly get, with zero noise whatsoever, and the analog sound processing clearing shows when recording/listening to voices or instruments such as guitars. In the case of purely electronic music, it will only really make a difference with analog synth, but the amount of connection might not be enough if you have several hardware synthesisers.

Overall a fabulous piece of gear.

Great choice for everyone

The reason I bought this interface is of the plugins which comes with this interface, They absolutely high quality, it cost it's price. If you planning to buy some real analog toys in future this is a perfect introduction into this world ,because of it realistic emulation. For those who planning use ONLY UAD plugins for Mixing or Mastering I would recommend to buy a Quad version of this interface,for a track recording and small post production MKII Duo will do., MKII Solo core version will not be able to drive many UAD plugins, because UAD plugins eats a lot of memory inside the interface and I would recommend to buy a SOLO core if you need only the interface and you going to use your own collection of VST plugins.

An essential piece of gear for the home studio!

The item arrived in perfect condition. UA's packaging for the item is flawless! I like it!

I was recommended this interface by my engineer friend when I was looking for an audio interface to replace my old one. And boy..was he spot on!

The hardware is built like a tank! The volume dial is smooth as butter and the buttons are tactile and nice. Comes with various adapters for power supplies all over the world, so no worries when you are travelling with it.

But the sweetest thing is the software and plugins that comes with it. The console is familiar to me as it looks like a mixer desk in the way that it's configured. And the plugins are to die for! UA is well renowned for it's many state of the art plugins that are highly respected in the industry.

Get it if you are serious about your home recordings and if you have the funds, go get the Quad or higher versions.
