Vic Firth 5A Nova Natural Wood Tip Reviews
Best bang for the buck
These are my go-to sticks I use when rehearsing and playing live. They feel great - not too rough or slippery. These sticks are reasonably balanced and the weight is not too light, which I prefer.
From what I have experienced, these sticks are just as durable as higher-priced drumsticks. I have had issues with sticks breaking in the past, which is probably connected to my subpar playing technique. Now although these sticks are quite cheap, they last relatively long compared to other models.
In general, I find these sticks to be the best with regards to their price. I would suggest there is nothing better in this price range.
Break easily.
These sticks were used for a practice and broke within an hour of using them. The split practically in half, which is unusual for most sticks, but is common for the NOVA series. I can fault the price however. I'd suggest buying the American Classics instead.
Great sticks
Good set of medium Vic Firth sticks, sound great, good weight and feel, not too long or heavy (if they were I'd say go for the equivalent 7As instead, they're just as good).
Excellent value sticks
A great quality pair of sticks and superb value for money compared to the main ranges from leading brands. I gig regularly and have found these sticks to last as well as the much more expensive alternatives. The weight of the sticks is good and consistent and the finish is great.
Cheap & Fair
Not exactly the best quality, but for the price they are more than okay! They're not as heavy as their more expensive counterparts, and they chip a bit more easily, but I've played with them live & in practice and a 12-pack lasted me a bit more than a year. All in all, a surprisingly good product for the price.
Super Nova.
The Nova 5A is just a great value stick for everyone!
