Poor quality

Very cheap feeling and looking sticks, regarding Vic Firth is putting their logo on as some kind of quality assurance :

Rough tip and conic part (not sanded properly), am afraid it could damage the mesh heads.

They are black, thick and feel great.

Not too light yet not too heavy for my taste.

Im happy

Nicely weighted

I'm not a drummer and only use these occasionally when adding a bit of percussion to a recorded track. All in all they do the job perfectly. I can't comment on how they'd stand up to heavy use on a stage etc.

poor quality

Unfortunately, these sticks break very quickly and often. We bought them for our 10 year old son and they usually don't last one week. Great price but poor quality.

Poor quality

The sticks are fine to play with but they leave lots of dirty marks on my cymbals and mine snapped in half after only a few months of playing.

Excellent and inexpensive

Very nice sticks, not too light, not too heavy, good grip and also cool looking. (no color residue on the hands even after long sessions).

Great value for the price.

Almost as good as the full price models.

These Nova Sticks are good for the price. I can't notice any difference in balance as opposed to the more expensive models.

The might not be as durable as as the others though but it's hard to tell without testing out lots of pairs over time. The other con is that the paint peels off pretty quickly too which is not major but a cosmetic concern all the same.

Low budget/ Hoge kwaliteit

Good quality only for this price

Vic Firth Nova is cheap, so I bought 5 pairs together. I break drumsticks fast, because I play metal and has a preference of holding them tight and hard.

4 pairs were super solid, last long. But 1 pair was so fragile, broke fast and I could find the wood isn't solid in the core at the broken part.

BTW, the black painting will stick on the cymbal and sometimes on the head of drums.

And now I move to AHEAD JJ1 drumsticks.

Very good for money

I currently use these sticks for my electric drum kit, and find them very comfortable to play with! Definitely worth the money! They are suitable for any play style.

With some sticks, I find that they rub and blisters begin to form; but I've found that, with these sticks, blisters are not a problem.

Very good sticks for the price

Have used these ones before and think they're great for the price. It's obviously not to their disadvantage that they look very nice as well and comes in several nice finishes to choose from.

Great feel, viable, eyecatching finish and extremely affordable.

Will definitely buy more of these in the future. Recommended!

Nice sticks, great price

Sticks feel very nice, great weighting. The black finish looks kinda nice, but it does mean that they become a little slippery in sweaty hands compared to bare wood.

Good touch

Primeiro de tudo é uma baqueta que nao dói na mão e segundo have a good sensitivity to the touch in the box giving a good sound not losing quality, I am beginner but much prefer this stick .

Awesome Cheap Sticks

I started off drumming playing with Vic Firth sticks, I then moved on to Vater stick as I found them to be more cheaper and more durable. Not too long after I found Vic Firth Nova in my local store and was curious as to why they were so cheap, the owner explained to me that they were sticks with visual defects and not defects with the stick itself so they paint them fully to cover it and call them Nova sticks.

The playing and durability is identical to the full Vic Firth sticks so I decided to purchase some and they did indeed feel identical even at less than half the price. While I like the full black coating, I found it to chip off and mark the drums or cymbals, but it does provide extra grip and cover visual defects, I think it might have been better if they covered it all except the tips.

Overall, they look pretty good, play very well, last just as long as regular sticks and are about the 3rd of the price. These are awesome.

Vic Firth 5BB Hickory Nova Black

These sticks are great for anyone wanting professional feeling sticks on a budget. If I'm honest I struggle to notice the difference between these and the pro series Vic Firth sticks! They feel the same and seem to be just as good quality. I have to say I haven't played any gigs with them so I'm not sure if they would be as durable as Vic's top end sticks.
