best sticks ever

my go to drum sticks for the past 7 years. nylon tips on TOP!

Broke after a few uses

Broke after maybe 10 hours of use on mesh head E-drums.

One of my favorite pairs of drumsticks

I use theese sticks on my Millenium 750x kit, and mainly play deathcore and other metal subgenres.

Its my second pair now, after the first one broke after around 4 months of daily use, which is pretty good tbh.

I definetly recommend theese drum sticks.

Classic feel with a great articulation

Vic Firth as usual provides a great quality stick. The 5A size is a proven classic that has been used for decades. Having tried almost every stick on the market I tend to come back to this one.

I switch between a wooden tip 5a and a nylon tip 5a. Nylon is great in a jazz context where I need a very articulate ride cymbal sound. This stick can help to achieve that with thinner cymbals for example.

Another benefit of nylon is that the stick will last literally forever because tip usually breaks first reducing the stick sound.

Balanced sticks

Can't go wrong with these. Good quality, quite cheap, it look like they will last for some time and the nylon head is safer for e-drums.

not a real drummer

I am not an every day drummer so for me these sticks last for the year. I bought 1 pair when the pandemic started and managed to break those a year later :)

Personal favourite

I've played on them for 10+ years now and can't think of changing them any time soon. I like the feel of wood but the nylon tip means the tip will last and works with my electronic drum pad well enough. Quality is pretty solid and they last relatively long, at least compared to other sticks I've used.

Great feel and sound

I have used these sticks for the past MANY years - primarily used in playing metal, where they have a nice attack due to the nylon tip. They especially make the ride sound good for metal music.

They are nicely balanced and durable. No reason not to buy them, unless you go for a more "soft" sound.

Best value for money

Classic 5a stick works for virtually all musical situations, legendary quality, sticks are indeed matched and perfectly straight. It's my second time buying this pack and I'm very satisfied

I was quite surprised to find out that one stick is 1 gram less in weight than the other: 54.2 vs 55.2 grams (while the packaging states that they're weight-matched). If that means they're matched with 1gr tolerance, then they're right. But I wasn't expecting this from Vic Firth. I also have a 5AF pair from TAMA, and the difference is only 0.1gr. I use a 0.1gr precision electronic scale for measuring.

Great sticks as all Vic Firth products. I personally like as they add some brighter sounds to cymbal sound, especially for ride. Durable and solid, I never broken the plastic tip before the stick started to consume.

Very good - a standard

No comment. A standard. One of the best pair. I prefer the wood tip, but it is top quality anyway. I gave 4 stars because I received a pair that was a little bit different: a tiny little bit difference on balance and I had to use the file to smooth the plastic of one tip. The first time it happened to me in many years.

Standard, for those who prefer 5A

I tried different sticks, long, short, thick, thin, from different types of wood and with different tips. But I stopped at these, for playing light music, for clear, not strong accents on cymbals. For rock, I prefer the same, but with a wooden tip.

Balanced, for me, in all respects, weight, length, thickness and service life. If you are a beginning drummer, take these sticks, you will not go wrong.

Hard wearing, easy grip with nice response

I've used these sticks for years. I play in regular rock bands, jazz bands and even Irish bands. These VF 5AN nylon tips work for all my genres really well. They wear evenly and the responsibility is very good. 10++ from me!!!

Quality

Great sticks, they last very long. Nylon tip gives more brightness on cymbals. The only thing is the variable weight.

Best sticks I've used so far. I like to play aggressively on my kit and these sticks are not even marked which a cheap set i bought the other week is beginning to splinter.

Great feel!

I was pleasantly surprised by the feel of these sticks and they seem to get more comfortable with use. The balance is at just the right point for me and the length ideal. They seem to be very well made with a nice semi-matte finish.

Great set of sticks

I use these for live performances and practice sessions on both live drum kit and electric drum kit. I've never had any issues and they're comfortable to play with. They also have good lasting power (for drummers who would be heavy handed).

Pros: Perfect weight for me, not too heavy and not too light. Comfortable to play for long or short sessions. Tip is great for full tone on the skins and more articulated sounds on the cymbals etc.

Cons: None for me. Would recommend for anyone to give them a go for live or practice work.

Overall: Love these sticks, highly recommend and wouldn't use anything else really.

Top-class sticks!

I use these sticks when I want to be really LOUD and PROUD! Serious tone from these babies, and they last very well in comparison to most sticks. Superbly balanced, and well-matched pairs make these a trouble-free choice for rock playing!
