Extreme

Like it says in the title.

These sticks are extremely good.

these are my preferred main sticks. also 66samus uses them. they are longer so i can reach around the kit easier and have really, really good rebound on any surface especially the ride, they have great weight balance and feel comfortable. the nylon tip sounds great on cymbals and never breaks.

cons: they break a little easier since they are thin and long, the price is a twice more opposed to nova 5an.

Overall my favourite sticks, worth it

Clear ping

I recently fell in love with the Vic Firth VFX5A Extreme 5A. They add that little bit of length that makes all the difference without increasing the stick weight too much.

But all my VF tips start pealing away at some points. So for songs requiring more ride play, I switch to the nylon head. And ping wouldn't get any clearer than this.

Very great pair of sticks.

Great sticks if your preference goes to 5AN but your drumkit is fairly big

My go-to pair of sticks

I'm a metal drummer. I like these sticks because they're slightly heavier and thicker than the standard 5AN, meaning you naturally get a more powerful sound. The Vic Firths are pretty reliable and durable. I like the nylon tips, because it gives better definition on the ride and hats.

Some people say they have experienced the nylon tips coming off, but I've only had this happen once or twice in a number of years.

Great sticks

I find the VFX5AN sticks ideal for my purposes. They are the right length, balance is good and so is the quality.

Vic Firth VFX5AN Extreme 5AN -Nylon Tip

I bought these because I'm not the tallest drummer in the world - therefore my reach is also reduced. with the way my kit is currently placed I need the extra length to enable me to reach all parts. It may only be half an inch but it makes the difference. I buy Vic Firth sticks as they have a nice weight and balance to them. They also last a lot longer than other (certainly cheaper but inferior) sticks due to the American hickory wood. The nylon tip is an important feature as it returns a rich cymbal sound. Some reviews would suggest these are more suited to jazz but I find they work very well for rock.
