it's killing for its price, but there are some 'buts'

Pros:

1) it's very small, so it's easy to pit it up anywhere u want. U have your own amp everywhere!!!

2) it sounds really good

3) drum presets are beautiful too

4) Three types of gain - really really good

Cons:

1) When tone on the amPlug is 100%, there is a noise, like on FM radio

P.S. I'm in love of it. i use it everyday at home and enjoy

Not very durable but extremely handy

This is the most convenient way to practice silently. Plug it into your bass, put on some headphones and you?re good to go. The aux in is incredibly useful for practicing along with tracks, and the built in grooves and metronome are indispensable when practicing timing or running exercises.

Nothing else does what this does for this price in this convenient package, but that package is made of quite flimsy plastic. I got an aux cable caught on something while moving around and it ripped the aux input jack right off of the circuit board, pads and all. Even so, I immediately ordered another one because it?s that handy to have.

Useful Headphone Amp

Very useful bit of kit, not particularly durable but it served me well for a year or two

It's great for practicing when travelling or outside.

The metronome and drum tracks are good, but it's not possible to set a specific bpm and the tempo dial is very sensitive.

The ergonomics are a bit off on certain instruments, leading a very weak spot - the plug itself - to be at the fulcrum of a lever where it meets the guitar body. I've snapped mine more than once.

These are nitpicks though, and it's a great bit of kit for the money.

Very nice

It is a very useful tool. It can be helpful if you want to practice without disturbing anyone, especially before the performances. Obviously, the sound isn't the same as if you were using an amplifier. But it has a good sound. Good quality for the price. I recommend it.

Amazing product

Couldn't be more satisfied. Excellent sound, very small and easily portable, works great. Has made me set aside my much more expensive amp for good. You really don't need anything other than this little amp for practice.

Very useful despite awful sound

This thing sounds pretty awful and feel cheap and plasticky but is extremely useful in a small flat. And you're pleasantly surprised by how good you sound when using a proper amp :P

I love being able to play music through it. Also the beats make finger exercises much more fun. What I'm missing is a basic metronome though.

A breeze for quick/quiet practice

This allow my to easily practice anywhere quietly. Paired with a smartphone or a computer, a headphone, your bass and your are all set to play along with music, metronome, backing tracks...

I really like it. I didn't use the onboard rythme tracks, so I cannot review that.

- sound quality is very good for practicing, maybe a bit to treble

- black labels on black backgound make it hard to read

- settings wheel move easily, and values hard to read

Working with this and a headphone allow you to ear a lot more then using an amplifier. So it allow you to had a good insight on your playing, what's right and what's wrong.

Expected better, still decent though

While this little tool is most of the things people say it is (fun, easy to use, convenient, your best friend for practising at night) I believe it's quality is a bit overrated: there's a LOT of noise, max volume is not that high.

UPDATE: it went kaput after some months of home-only use.

Good value

It feels flimsy and plasticky, but it's also very light, so it probably won't break if you drop it, except maybe if you throw it on some tiles or something.

As you turn up the treble, the hiss gets pretty strong, but nothing I can't live with. The built-in drumbeats, with adjustable speed, are nice for practicing.

The sound quality overall is perfectly fine for practicing, although I haven't found it to be very good for slapping - you won't get the same percussive pop as you would through a proper amp.

Overall, a really nifty little thing!

not bad but there is room for improvement

Amplug 2 is a perfect gear for practice on your bass guitar and I would give five stars if not the following:

- weak but hearable hum especially if you have your iPhone connected to aux

- drums - I am lacking few other patterns and just a simple metronome.

Plug it in your bass,plug headphone into it and have fun,without bothering enyone.Didnt find any noise from the vox, single coils will hiss a bit but they can do that anyway.

only slight fault I found was the case was not glued just on the top join,the case is in two halfs, tiny drop of glue and job done!

Surprisingly good sounds from this little box,well worth the money

Cool little gadget

I bought it for practicing bass at home so I wouldn't have to connect bass through amp(that bothers others later at night) or audio interface. I am very satisfied.

First of all it is very easy to use. Just plug it in your bass and play. Of course you need your headphones as well and make sure that they are not the cheapest ones, because that way you can truly experience the best sound from this tiny amp and it can be suprisingly good.

It will help you with your rhythm with the metronome option. The sound of the tic is not annoying and you can also adjust the tempo for the beat so you can grow in speed as well. The drum tracks are also a fun option to play with.

Nothing else to say, a helpfull little thingy.

Really good thing to have handy.

Make sure you don't use your cheap headset. You need some headset that can give you full bass rendition. On second thought I would put it differently. if you do use the bass amplug on a bass then use a good headset. I used it on a guitar also with a cheap mp3 headset (the ones you stick in your ears) and it was acceptable since the high notes go ok through them.

It is tempting to plug and play when it arrives, but mind blowing if you read the manual first. Spend those five minutes, you will discover straight away the options you have, and they are more than the few buttons you have.

For those that feel weak on keeping rhythm, the beats and the options to set how fast you get the beat is a great help.

It is a great aid to improve yourself by practicing without shaking the house through your amp and get the usual whining from your housemates ;-) .

Had it for a week now and used it every day. It is so convenient that even my girlfriend that is a guitar player is gonna go for a guitar version of it, just for the quick practice without plugging the amps.

A little device useful to practice at home

Nice and useful but would have liked a more sturdy construction a metronome instead of rhythms and finally a little higher output with a rechargeable usb plug (nowadays even a toothbrush is...)

perfect for practising everywhere! the volume ist just a little bit low, but i repeat, that's the perfect thing to buy, if you want practise.

Small and fine!

I use this for practice, especially if I am travelling somewhere for a few days. It's handy to be able to just take my base guitar and not need to take an amp. I use the input jack for an mp3 player. There are also 9 drum rhythms which can be adjusted for tempo and volume. It's plenty loud enough over the headphones and I don't trouble anyone with my playing!

The batteries seem to last ages and the volume controls seem solid and not scratchy. It's a bit fiddly to adjust the controls once it's plugged-in, but having the built-in plug keeps the whole thing small and seems robust enough. I suppose I could buy an extension cable if I really needed it.The plastic doesn't feel particularly high quality, but it's held up to being dropped/pulled sideways etc so it seems up to the job. A mini practice amp in a match box!

Great for what it's made for

That's all this is made for and it works fine.

Some cons:

When you dime the tone there's a horrible hiss

It feels a bit flimsy

But for this price I guess you can't expect a tube sound with a 78 band eq.

In the end I do recommend.

A very good thing for exercising

Finally I can play in the living room without my neighbors and women complain about the noise.

It's amazing how such a small thing can give as good bass sound. I love the option of the rhythm, really gives a new dimension to training. The aux in for MP3 players is very useful for learning songs.

Unfortunately, after a couple of month of use, the potentiometer volume began fooling around. The plastic case is quite fragile, and the device can be easily damaged when carrying in gig bag.

Very good

I bought this gadget for travelling and to be able to play with ordinary speakers. It does the job pretty well and with the drum machine option you can jam anywhere.

Cons

-Plastic construction looks very fragile, not to be thrown around.

- Only 3 types of drum loops

Overall i think it worth it's price
