Vox Amplug 2 Classic Rock Reviews
Fun practice when mobile
This is Great for when you want to walk around the house and practice. Also if you are beginner it is cheap and sounds good enough.
Perfect for the price
It is great for playing at any place at work or at home without disturbing others!
The build quality is not the best, it feels a little cheap, but for the price, I think that is ok
Voxed
Not the sound like u used to have on an amp, but it helped me practicing quietly without disturbing anyone that is @home
It does the job quite good
The quality could be a bit better but's ok. It sure is a very handy tool when traveling around and want to practice. The tones you get are very good for the size of that little thing. With a good pair of headphones you have a very good tone. I'm pleased with this purchase
Nice little tool
if you really feel the need to play and keep it super quite and you have a low budget then the Vox Amplug it's perfect .
If you go crazy with the gain it buzzes like a fridge but you can get acceptable tones out of it
Simply fantastic and works with Uke as well
Bought this to use on my Fender Uke Strat electro acoustic. Was a bit apprehensious at first as to what the sound would be like on the headphones (or connected to a speaker) with a Uke instead of a guitar... but as soon as I plugged it in and played with the different modes and settings, I couldn’t stop smiling. I am pretty much a beginner so imagine what a better player could do with it! A very versatile little device that compliments the Uke’s original sound or with a few setting tweaks can give it that raw electric guitar sound.
Excellent tool for practicing, with some minor ergonomical issues
I bought the Vox Amplug 2 looking for a way to practice in a manner that is as lightweight and hassle-free as possible: minimum number of cables/equipment; just plug and play.
This is literally it; plug and play.
I keep my headphones connected to this Vox at all times, and all I have to do to start playing is plug it into the guitar. That's it. Top marks for ease-of-use regarding getting started.
The sound quality is excellent; even better than I expected. After you spend some minutes tweaking it to your liking, you're in sound heaven.
Where things could be improved is the way you change the settings. If you only play in one style, this won't affect you. You set it once, and it remembers the setting even after power down. This is excellent. However, if you need to switch, say, from overdrive to clean, or – especially – from chorus to reverb, then you're in trouble. You definitely can't do that mid-song. You need to stop playing, turn the guitar around, and fumble with the controls. Not ideal, but it is what it is.
All in all, however, it's excellent for the price. I'd buy again!
Very nice!!!
I liked this little amplug immediately. A conviant solution for those who like to practice without to bother others. It has a nice sound, different settings and some effects; chorus, delay and reverb. I recommend it strongly.

great great tool for practicing musicians and not disturbing anyone.
Perfect travel partner
Perfect travel partner toguether with the amplug 2 cabinet. The incorporated effects make it sound better.
Practical and useful
I use this to be able to hear myself play when jamming without a mixing desk. Works fine with a splitter (Y-adapter jack), and some mid-quality in-ear headphones.
Pretty impressed with the effects - very helpful to be able to hear some distort if I have a distort effect active through the amp at the same time.
My only complaint is that it would be helpful if there was a place to attach a belt-clip or a lanyard or something, to be able to secure it while playing.
Such a big sound from something so small
I was amazed at the sound from this little thing and I love the styling. Absolutely fantastic for practicing or taking with you travelling when you don't want to take a proper amp. It really does help to hear a properly distorted sound. The case is plastic and seems to be strong enough but its quite ordinary quality. I find the fixed 1/4 inch plug annoying on my Les Paul and it's fiddly adjusting it underneath the guitar. It will depend where the socket is on the guitar you have. Perhaps a jack and a short lead would have been a better design. Overall I really like it but somehow because its a bit fiddly I've used it less than I thought I would.
