DOA

This review is probably an outlier, but I gave a set to my brother, and he said that the ball end had come off before he had even strung it on his L2500.

Good strings for low price

I use this string set as my "daily" strings and it's perfect for that.

There's nothing special for this price, but it's good for gigs or rehearshal also.

I like the price and the quality.

I only miss the cloth coat from the ends.

So this set is worth of every cent! ;)

Warwick Strings

Cheap bass strings that still sound good.

These strings may very well be the most affordable bass strings that there are, and sure they have their shortcomings: mainly lack of body to the tone (they sound a bit scooped), low durability (compared to my standards and considering my playing technique, that is),

and some kind of rawness to the touch (by that I just mean these are just not silky smooth and soft like some more expensive brands are); but their not that bad either, and especially I like their presence in the higher frequencies.

I consider them to be a very viable option in various situations.

For instance:

These are definitely good for a student, or someone who just play to himself and as such has no need for a particular tone.

These are good for someone who uses a very effected tone, and so is not relying so much on the strings alone.

These are good for someone who plays heavy music, mainly metal, and would go for a scooped sound anyway.

Also could be good for someone who likes to change strings very often to keep the fresh sound and doesn't want to spend a fortune.

Excellent for a budget string...long lasting with an even string tone.

Transformed the sound...

Fitted these to my old Yamaha RBX after removing the old dead flatwounds and popping on a new bridge. Talk about a different guitar! Need playing in but they will sound great!

Excelent value for money, nothing more

First, you hardly can get better strings for the money. They deserve 5 stars for that only. Soundwise, they're OK, nothing more. A bit quieter than more expensive strings and withe less tension than you would epect from 45-105 steel set.

So, great string for budget or as an emergency replacement set, but I wouldn't use them on my main bass.

Very good!

Theese strings a my favorite, they sound good, last long, nice to play on and very cheap. So much strings that does the same job but just the combination with the price makes this my number one!

I doubt it....

One might have a longterm debate about how much a good set of bass strings should cost but it is undoubtable, that these Warwick Red Label strings are really cheap. So I thought that they should be worth a try. Having tried a lot of other string manufacturers and producers before I have to say, they are not. The sound is ok at first, some nice low end, warmth, little highs. Therefore they are scratchy, they do not feel soft at all, they take sliding noise from ones fingers very seriously. After one/two weeks, they sound old and mushy. It is ok to save money for strings, as I can only recommend Fender strings at the moment, but these are not enough.

Best buy!

For the price these are the best strings you can buy. I have used these for many years now, and they are cheap enough to change often. They can be a little "rough" at first, but I put FastFret on, and after a few hours of playing they are smooth as any other. Do you own a lot of basses, want to sound fresh, and have little money? Look no further!! :-)

Excellent Value

These 'budget priced' Warwick strings are just amazing value for money! They come vacuum wrapped to ensure they remain factory fresh and provide great tone. I have found them to remain well in tune and retain their tone for a good period of time.
