Great litle overdrive! There are several diferent voicing options available. Battery operation posibility is also very useful. Big voice in small box. I like it.

One of the best Marshall in a box pedal

Gifted to a friend of mine who owns a Marshall Dsl 100, thanks to this little pedal he now has the same sound of his amp everywhere he goes, definitely recommended!

Marshall in a box

If you're looking for some Marshall-like distortion this is the pedal for you. It also has a few switches on the inside to customize the sound a little more. The pedal is very small aswell so it won't take up too much space on your pedalboard.

Wholesome Marshall sound

Great pedal, I suggest you use it at 18 volts to give it a lot more head room and unlock its full potential. Inside it it has 4 switches which in different combination gives you various Marshall head preamp gain structures (Super lead, super lead with high/mid cut, super lead+ with more highs and super bass). Excellent product, works excellent on a clean platform.

Very good sound

It's almost awkward, how can a pedal feel so organic and reactive to your touch, emulates very well a Marshall JMP!! The sound character is instantly recognisable. Internal Dipswitches let you tweek your tone even more. ITS NOW AN ALWAYS ON PEDAL! Will certainly try more from this brand, as I am very impressed.

Great AC/DC - Cult Electric Tones

I use this with my strat (Single Coils) and get great AC/DC - Cult Electric tones. I love this pedal and have two of them. However, a bit more flexibility in the EQ/tone shaping would be ideal.

Super Lead Tone! Nice.

In the early 1990's I had a real 50w Superlead made in 1971 and a 70's 4x12 angled cab with greenbacks. This pedal reminds me of that tone. Love it. (I'm playing through an original '66 Princeton Reverb).

A lot of reviews say this can get a Fender amp to be a Marshall. Complete exaggeration, nothing to do with Marshall sound. It's a decent pedal. And yes, i tried every setting.

I'm Stocked with this pedal

Hi there

I found my sound with that overdrive. So I'm planning to buy another SL Drive and combine my rhythm with my lead sound.

You can configure this pedal in four kind of tones, I mean that It's awesome!

Many people says that pedal contain a plexi in It's core ..mm I've to say that I actually never I played a Marshall Plexitone, but you can get tones from Hendrix till Tony Iomi, about that I've to clarify that it also depends on the guitar and the amplifier that you uses and between the four switch configurations plus the setting of the pedal, volume, tone and drive.

Well I really think that pedal its a big deal. I hope my words help you decide on this purchase

Cheers

Small and beautiful!

I never thought this pedal would last so long on my board. I always try removing it (for some reason), only to put it back on my board later. Sounds great in every amp I played it with.

Great marshall sounds

I got this pedal as I wanted to have the sound of my Marshall DSL when I was busking with a battery amp. I wasn't disappointed. The sound is thick, warm and undeniably Marshall. With the twist of the gain knob I could go from warm, subtle overdrive to full, rich, heavy distortion. I have had people on the street comment on my tone.

On the outside, there are controls for gain, tone and a small level knob, but inside there are four dip switches to further edit your tone.

If you want to replicate the sound of your Marshall when hiring or travelling light, or just can't afford one, this pedal is for you.

Delivery to Northern Ireland was quick, and the pedal arrived in great condition.

Up to the usual Xotic standard

I also own the SP Comp and SP booster both of which are great pedals. The SL Drive is of the same high standard.

Built like a tank with the same small footprint as its cousins. Delivers awesome drive tones almost as good as a tube amp.

Also responds dynamically to picking attack and the internal dip switches make for a very tweakable and highly adjustable drive pedal. A great little addition to anyone's pedalboard.

Xotic SL Drive Review

I purchased this pedal as I wanted to emulate the sound of the early 70's with my guitar. This pedal achieved that purpose greatly. I used to use the distortion on my Roland amp but wanted a crisper sound so i went for this pedal. At gigs I have received compliments for my guitar tone so I am very satisfied with the pedals performance for me. There is a tone knob which affects the amount of crunch you have to your sound and a drive knob which affects the amount of body you have and how heavy you want your sound. I find that it works best when both knobs are set to the middle. There is also an EQ at the back when you screw off the plate which can be adjusted to add extra treble, bass etc depending on your preferences but I left mine to the factory settings. The only downside to the pedal is the slight buzz it creates, this can be controlled however by turning the volume on the pedal down and the volume on the amp up louder. Other than that the pedal is perfect and you get what you pay for with this one unlike some cheap pedals i have previously tried.
