Yamaha FC-7 5-stars Reviews
This pedal is the real deal!
It does the job with great feel, along with beeing sturdy and precise. I have two in my rig and they are the best pedals I've got!
Good but very expensive
The quality is very good, but I feel this is overpriced for what it is.
a very comfy pedal
Very comfortable to play with. Super stable. Long course, perfect stiffness. Suited for big feet. I love it.
I've had three, and one got out of calibration after a couple of years. Too bad there's not calibration knob. But for the price, I'm not complaining.
Yamaha FC-7
Really good and well built expression pedal. I use it as a volume pedal for my midi keyboard.
Solid and reliable
Used it with my Nord Electro, Nord wave 2,… Works perfectly, it never lets me down, it’s relatively light but doesn’t move around while playing.
Expressive
Using with my Nord, really expressive, I can recommend it.
Solid, reliable, long throw.
This is my second FC-7 (the first one is still working perfectly). You can rely on it long term and it is solid enough not to slip around the floor in use. It has a long throw so it is probably better suited to be used with a keyboard when seated (I use it with a Nord Stage and it works perfectly). Having said this, a small amount of adjustment of the angle of throw is possible via a small screw on the underside. The cable can be tucked inside the pedal mechanism for transportation but I don't tend to bother with this.
Works great, seems to be good quality
I got this for the cheap Yamaha Reface YC. Works great. The build quality is reassuringly sturdy. The cable looks slightly flimsy but it's far from the worst I've seen and if they had made it sturdier it would probably have been less flexible and user friendly.
Good quality at a reasonable price. Recommended.
A must for serious organ players
I mostly play Hammond with the ridiculously expensive Hammond expression pedals.
I got this one to use with a Roland VK-8 that I sometimes still use on tour. That meant I had to reverse the polarity (Yamaha and Roland don't mix), but that was easy enough.
The pedal has a nice long throw, which makes it a true organ expression pedal. It's built solid and compact, which makes it easy to carry around. It is relatively light but stays well in place. To my (personal!) taste, it could use a fraction more resistance. I tend to overstep it. Other than that, this is one of the best organ expression pedals out there.
Perfect
This dedicated pedal is one of my favourite. Solid, well balanced.
Exceptional quality
Very robust. Practical cable winding hooks.
Just the best expression pedal there is!
I wanted to upgrade from Kurzweil's CC1 pedals because they have a pretty short travel (15°). Yamaha FC7 is probably the undisputed champion of expression pedals for quite a long time now - and I say it's definitely deserved!
The only thing that could be considered a negative with this pedal is that it uses a 50 kOhm logarithmic potentiometer, whereas almost all other expression pedals use linear pots (and usually 10 or 20 kOhm). So there will need to be some soldering in order to reduce the impedance of the pedal so that I can use it with my Kurzweil PC3K8 keyboard. No matter - an easy job to do.
Just get one. Get two. Hell, get as many as your MIDI controller can connect. Be Vangelis. Enjoy life!
>Best there is.
It is a Yamaha FC7 volume pedal. I got 4 of these now, they are the best on the market, not much more to say. For some keyboards it might be needed to change polarity to make it work.
Good pedal
Good volume pedal. I have used this for Nord Stage volume swell, works fine (when you find the right settings in the menu) and has a good touch.
Pedal power
Superb quality assocoated with Yahama
Ideal for use with Yamaha synth
I used to use a simple stereo volume control pedal between my synth and the amp. It wasn't expensive and it did the job - until the mechanism broke. I invested the extra money in the proper Yamaha expression pedal and have not been disappointed. 1 - you can configure what the pedal controls - not just volume. 2 - the construction is very robust and reliable. If you have a Yamaha keyboard, spend a little bit more and get a better solution.
jimjam
Easy to install. Just plugs into the back of the Tyros. Smooth action. When the organ is first turned on you can leave the foot peddle in the up position and use the organ without touching it. Once you push it down you have the volume control of the swell peddle returned to the footswitch. A quality product you would expect from Yamaha. No interference or crackle from the foot switch, just a smooth increase or decrease of volume
Stable expression pedal
I have only used a EV-5 prior to this peddal and in comparison the FC-7 feels and acts way better. It's a bit heavier wich makes it stay at one place during playin which is acctually very helpful. Good response as expected.
