Yamaha MG12XUK
12-Channel Mixer

Really good mixer, but not great mixer
I bought this to replace my Mackie mixer after it developed a few problems. The Yamaha MG12xUK does the job fine for my needs. I do solo gigs and use up 6 of the inputs with varous mic and effects combinations. The sound and size of the mixer are spot on. The reverbs are good, but I keep that pretty subtle.
The three things I'm not so keen on are: 1) the lack of mute buttons, which make isolating and fixing feedback easier. 2) The external power supply is akward for storage, packing away compared with a standard power cable. 3) The lack of Graphic EQ, which the Mackie desk had and I used to 'clean up' the sound be removing some low mid, and also to fix feedback on the odd occasion.
I might keep this mixer in the studio and buy another for live use. However, The Alto is the only one I can see with a Graphic, mute buttons, and an internal power supply and I wanted something with the quality assurance of a brand like Yamaha.
Great!
Great quality mixer for The price with a good selection of effects
