My new Yamaha MG16XU Mixer

My first thought on receiving my Yamaha MG16XU Mixer was when i took it out of shipping package. That product box is very nicely designed, it looks great and is very well made and protected. Has a stealthy look to it. When I open the box and saw the Mixer, next thought was Oh NICE Yamaha MG16XU Mixer, the mixer looks very good and it has a stealthy look to it also.

I feels very good and at this point I am very satisfied.

It has an excellent Sound output with all the functions that came with it. If you are needing a sound mixer and this fits you budget give it try. I was not disappointed, This product is a win win.

Good quality and versatile

An awesome mid-budget mixer that can get you a long way.

The mic amplifiers are amazing on this. It delivers a lot of power to my monitors and it has a lot of utility on it, the only thing I'm missing are insert effects on each channel. The built in effects sound really good and it feels pretty well build. The only other problem I have with it is the fact that if I'm using it through USB to stream, the only way I can adjust the volume of the sound going out to my laptop is at the channel level trough gain or the fader, there is no other know I can use to compensate the overall volume going out.

Excellent

A trusty mixer for every situation.

I've used it for live gigs and even for recordings. A value for money equipment that won't let you down.

I recommend using it ..

I recommend using this good device Yamaha clear sound high resolution. price is average among other devices but there are some disadvantages encountered that the main keys is not as strong as required so one broke ...

Serving our needs very well!

We use this desk in our church building, which also hosts an open-mic youth project. We generally use 8 of the 16 input channels (for a mixture of mics and instruments), and we output via a graphic equaliser and amp to a pair of HK wall-mounted speakers. And it sounds really great! We're delighted with this desk.

We currently use 2 of the 4 AUX outputs - one for a stage monitor, and one to provide sound to a creche room. In the future we hope to use a 3rd AUX output to run a induction loop for those wearing hearing aids.

Most of the people using this mixer are not experts. In fact, some are absolute beginners. However, it is a very easy mixer to use, and the very logical layout of its controls helps immensely.

We don't often need to use the FX, but when we do, they work great.

Recently we've started recording from the desk. That's possible directly via the USB connection. This outputs the 2 channel (i.e. stereo) mix which is going to the speakers. The necessary PC drivers can be easily found on the Yamaha website. Even if you connect using DAW software, only the 2 channel (i.e. stereo) output is possible. I imagine you'd have to pay a lot more for a mixer that outputs each channel separately. The USB connection can also be used for playback, and produces a better sound than using an audio cable with jack connectors.

Hope that's helpful. We bought ours in March 2016, and over 3 years later we still consider it one of our best purchases. I should have written this review much sooner, but hey... better late than never ;o)

Okay.

I bough this table for an analogical use but it's not really the best after working with. The song is quite good but I had some troubles with faders which created some buzz when you move them. After all the effect box can be useful. It's really easy to use, and the Cubase software included is a really nice way to record with a good quality. The whole package is good, from Yamaha it's generally that way, but here we can miss the quality sometimes.

Fantastic desk, great quality features.

This desk is so versatile. The on board effects engine is of a good quality and adequate for most circumstances. Mic preamps are very crisp with very little noise. The USB system is of a very high quality and produces lovely recordings. The build of the desk is very good, jacks and ports are sturdy as are all faders, buttons and pots. The use of the light-up "on" buttons instead of mute buttons is a great little addition which makes identification of which channels are active very easy.

A great desk for live band and theater applications with room for expansion and ease of recording and affect use.

Great desk, highly recommended.

Good piece

Everything is in place and after couple of minutes tweaking the buttons you will get a clear overview what this piece is capable of. Although i gave 3 stars for quality because 1 channel did not work out-of-the-box for reason unknown. But all other channels work fine and i can live without that one extra channel out of 16 for now.

MG 16 XU Preformance

Very good pre amps and excellent sound quality when used with a professional pa system.

Nice reverbs in the effects that are built in to the desk.

Love the colour coded buttones which helps to identify them very quickly.

The Compressor built into each mono channel is a great advantage

Pity that there is no Graphic on the desk it is a vital feature which every pa needs.

A green signal button on each channel would be a great feature to have as you can see that each channel is working with a single glance.

There is no socket for a snake light which is a slight disadvantage.

Overall this Desk sounds and looks great, very happy with it.
