Yamaha PSS-A50 Reviews
Cute little two-in-one tool!
Cute little synth. Recording samples from it and using it as a midi-controller when my primary one is defected.
A surprise but a welcome one at that
The sounds are actually good for the price. Very efficient tool
Good enough to play around with
I bought this to mess about with. Cheap and concise. the synth lead sound can work well in context of almost ANY dance track! The only thing I would have liked more is if it had a 1/4 inch jack output rather than a 1/8th output... other than that. I'd happily have a go at recording music with this keyboard! Just for fun!
excellent keybord for my son
I bought it as the first keybord for my 5 y.o. son
he love it, fits perfectly his fingers, the sound is good and child engaging
the sensitive keys are not very stable - sometimes he needs to hit them harder to play them. Without this function everythoing is perfect (maybe he is still too young for that, we'll see in the future)
handy instrument to exercise melodies
not too large, not to small
works as MIDI input for Syntesia; Music Writer.
I use it for Piano and Trumpet practice
Solid keyboard that does what is expected
I needed a keyboard that was small, easy to grab, with decent sounds. Just something for testing out ideas so to say. They keyboard is well built, the keys feel good and distinct and the dynamic feels as natural as can be on a small. non-weighed, keyboard. It has many more features than I need so I will not comment on them.
I guess I could give it 5 stars, but I don't think this was ever intended to be a 5 star instrument, not for that price, so I give it 4.
In a sentence: Money well spent!
for my baby
Bought this for my baby (and for me to plinker with some times). He is still to small but I hope one day he will like it. I chose this one because its a good brand and also the only in its priceclass with touch sensitive keys.. Thats a big + !! So far I like it, hope it will keep working for a long time..
Neat and small
very nice portable keyboard. Good sound, keys are good enough in size. Well built item.
great value and cool features for this price range
I bought two of these because one of the kids stuck something into the USB port and MIDI stopped working (charging and power still works).
Love it so much, that I did not hesitate to get another one since repair costs exceed the value of a new unit.
Simply a winner in this price range if you want velocity keys and MIDI controller option.
PRO: velocity keys, phrase record/loop, compact, USB charged and MIDI support via USB
CON: slight noise when using headphones, mono speaker, could use more info on the left side of the keyboard
The best midi keyboard with its own sound
Best choice if you are looking for a midi keyboard with small keys. It is ahead of all competitors in terms of price and quality. The big plus is that there is a speaker, own sounds, an arpeggiator, the ability to work and sketch out arrangements directly on the synthesizer. Best buy for the money.
in this price range a little miracle
Some reviewers on youtube say its not worth. I disagree all the functions are clear after a little while and there is certain amount of logic in every step you take. I love it.
Pretty Decent
Good for playing around on. Volume is pretty low.
Amazing keyboard for the price
The sounds are very good, the keybed is also very good and comparable to Reface series.
Arpeggios are very fun and good in this keyboard.
Arpeggio hold button is a little annoying to hold in some playstyles, the looper has no quantization (so it requires a good precision to press), the output and speaker are noisy.
I use this keyboard as a cheap and light supplementary instrument to play basslines and pads, and I'm totally satisfied with it.
Can't beat a Yamaha keyboard
Cheapest yamaha keyboard you can purchase. I bought it to transcribe melodies at night that I later play on the sax, has more features than I'll ever be able to use and its the same price I payed for my child's toy keyboard.
The fact that it can transpose by semitones up and down the register and moves octaves allows me to set it just on Eb and Bb and same register as my saxophones so I don't have to transpose melodies after transcribing. I love it.
Its also a MIDI USB Interface with ok key sensitivity, its endless fun!
Nice instrument, with some drawbacks
I got these to test tunes at home. I needed something small, portable, one I can grab fast and easily. Admittedly, the keys feel a little small, but this was somewhat expected. Sound are okay, but would have benefited from a second speaker. Sound itself is clean thou, no cracking or overdriven speaker sounds. Would not use in a band session, but for home use, good enough. Would I recommend it? Depends very much on what you need it for. But for the price, this is not a big hit, if you are not satisfied.
Not perfect, but very handy and fun to use
Compact and light with 37 keys, runs on 4xAA batteries or USB power. Built-in speaker. Small selection of voices can seem a little bland. Arpeggiator is a great feature which takes time to master.Basic short phrase recorder is also very handy for sketching ideas. Doubles as a MIDI keyboard so great for travellers. No sustain pedal socket and only a combined headphones/output socket, which can be a little hissy. Everything involves compromise but Yamaha have steered a sensible course with this mini keyboard. Recommended.
