Yamaha Recording Custom 14"x6,5" BR 5-stars Reviews
Great all around snare
This snare sounds great on lower and on higher tunings, is great for recording and has an awesome sound for lower volume playing and for heavy rimshots.
I play mostly heavier music and the only problem I have had with it is detuning of the 2 bottom lugs bellow the place I hit the rimshots, but I have had this problem with every snare so far so I am not surprised.
I have used the snare with the ambassador coated and CS black dot heads and both sounded great.
Very good
As expensive as my whole first drumkit. The exact sound I was hoping for. Very versatile from low to high tunings. EDIT: After two years itâs still my main snare. I use a CS ambassador on the top and an emperor side on the bottom (thicker than the original) at medium tuning and it sounds amazing with or without the minimuff. Never tried it with die-cast hoops but I might some day.
Recording Custom Brass
Crazy! I have played to different snare drums and this is absolutely the best! Sound and quality are over the board. Sounds killer!
Very warm, clear and rich tone! Easy to tune.
Beauty
This is everything that I ever wanted in a snare drum! The look is great, amazing build quality (as expected from Yamaha) and the sound is the stuff of dreams. I also really like the throwoff, its fast and feels really steady.
Pros:
Well, everything.
Cons:
It ain't cheap
A lot of horsepower, could be a problem in small rooms.
