Yamaha THR10IIW 5-stars Reviews
The best
One of the best if not the best sounding digital home amp. Also can be used as bluetooth speaker. I still think the sound of the Green thr10x is better though ( I have both). Buy the wireless version.
Extraordinary
Gorgeously looking, top of the line build quality, compact and easy to carry around. Paired with the “Line 6 Relay G10TII” transmitter makes it super versatile and one of the best all-around portable amps.
unbeatble amp
Awesome!! I used it with Gibson Les Paul now with Ibanez Premium. U don't need any pedals, everything is on it. After it's charged , U can take it anywhere, battery last for hours.
Great practice amp
I bought this amp to practice at home without upsetting my neighbours.
Overall I was extremely pleased with it, it sounds good, it offers already several effects and twicking options, looks amazing and is very portable.
Regarding the sound I don't think it's on par with modern plugins such NeuralDSP, so I wasn't using it for recording. It offers great cleans but I found the distortion and the heavy sounds to be a bit lacking.
I was not super happy with the companion app that comes with it, but it's a necessary evil if you want to use all the features it provides.
One nice feature I liked was the blueetooth pairing. You can stream songs from your devices to the amp and play along. There are two knobs to easy regulate the guitar sound and the playback sound.
I tried to record via usb with some success. The latency it's still not the best, but it's doable, although in the end I still prefer the audio interface + plugins approach.
I also got the wireless interface Line6 Gt10II, and it worked quite well with it.
Overall it's a good amp, but since nowadays I'm mostly playing with NeuralDSP plugins I decided to sell it.
I need new ear drums
I plugged the THR in and played a few chords in Clean mode. Adjusted volume way up and was still a bit disappointed with the output.
I switched to Lead mode and almost blew my head off!!!!
How does so much sound come out of a unit so small?
A really beautifully made bit of kit and I sound 90% better already (disclaimer: the wife has yet to confirm this)
Awesome little amp
The build quality and sound on this amp is fantastic.
I compered this amp with the boss katana air and the yamaha beats boss on sound by a huge mile. Probably due the speakers.
I'm not giving all 5 stars because the android app to control the app is very bugged.
Also since I used to use a lot of effects on boss katana air that unfortunately is lacking on yamaha. In a way it's a great amp with amazing sounds. It takes pedal's very well!!
Amazing tiny amp !
This amp is truly amazing. I was looking for a small amp to play in my apartment at any hour I like, without disturbing the whole building, and something I can carry on me to play anywhere I want. And this is it. Even at a low sound level, this amp has a really dynamic sound. The effects are great, and the equalizer is WORKING great !
I mostly use the Clean and Crunch channel for my guitar, and the bass channel as well, and they all sound amazing. The clean channel has a purity I've been looking for, with a perfect tonal balance between bass / medium / high. It has a perfect response to the dynamic playing, as a tube amp would have.
The only thing I could be unhappy about is the need to download an app and spend some times on the computer to get in the deep settings of the amp. But, to be honest, I have my pedal effects, so it's not really a problem to me.
All you have to do is : turn on the amp, and play, anywhere, anytime, nothing more simple, with a sound you gonna love.
Greatest practice amp on the market today.
The title says it all... I ve tried most of the practice amps in the Market and THR continues to be the greatest of them all... Now that the new generation comes with bluetooth it's a no brainer... But what really sets apart the THR is the great sounds, so realistic and satisfying.
