Reality is the name of the game

The auditory experience of listening to recorded lectures is just as important as the quality of a music record, And this device gives a completely realistic experience, It is pleasant and easy to concentrate on important lectures. We have a nice student who comes to the lecture and walks on crutches, one of the friends who was listening to a recorded lecture from the Zoom H1n suddenly heard the friend with the crutches approaching, and he went to the door to help him, which it turned out. that the sound comes from the headphones of the replay. There is no built-in battery, but non-rechargeable AAAx2 batteries

Punches well above its weight.

Portable, convenient and sounds great - only wishes: USB-C and 32 bit. These are addressed in the new version.

I use this device to quickly record tracks in our rehearsal room

It make pretty decent stereo recordings in a room with loud drums, amplified guitars and microphones, as far as possible with such a device.

The rotatable knob allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the recording, from very sensitive (for very quite/silent environments), to very insensitive - allowing you to make nearby (stereo) recordings of a loud drum with decent quality.

I also use this device to record the drums and record the output of the mixer (with the vocals & other instruments) separately (with another device), and join them together afterwards.

A Great Little Recorder

I was introduced to the Zoom H1N by my boss at our radio station, he recommended it. It's a great recorder with amazing sound quality. I use it for interviews and beer reviews all the time. Nice an lightweight for its size.

Great Quality

Great piece of gear for the price. Sound quality is excellent and easy to use, export files, change file types etc.

Would highly recommend for newbies.

best price value ratio!

very easy to handle, gets the job done, portable, excellent sound quality, you don't need anything better if you can't record in a studio

Great little recorder

The sound quality is great, better than expected. I use it for video, capturing ambience and sample collecting. It's always in my backpack.

Overkill for the price!

I've purchased the H1n set with the APH-1n accessories pack.

All the products are of resonable high quality materials. The stand form the APH-1n pack is metal. The H1n is made of a plastic housing, but' i've had products of much worse quality by now. Careful not to drop it on rocks or something similar! The buttons feel fine, very clicky and the interface is logically laid out wich makes it for a simple and enjoyable handling experience.

The quality od the recording is reasonably good with options of 16 bit and 24 bit recording in 48 (16 bit addiotional 44.1 khz) and 96 khz as well as mp3 recording (up to 320 kbps). There is some marginal noise present but at the price range i think it's purely negligible.

The mic's are very nice also considering the price. I've had much worse for more money! Here you get two for the price of one! Both are condenser and capture the space at a remarkable depth, depending on the set input level.

I've purchased the H1n for recording my mixes out of a looper (via LINE-IN) with hopes of monitoring it as well, with my headphones, real-time. Well, it turns out you can do that as well! the signal of the LINE-IN can be , of course, monitored at real time, but also AMPLIFIED (Superlux HD681) to a very resonable level. That makes an adittional mixing desk or a headphone amplifier, however small, for the purpose of monitoring, completley obsolete! What a joy to discover this!

I haven't had the time to try the USB connection for the audio interface for the PC yet.

So honestly, the H1n has surpassed my expectations that were pretty high to start with. For the price of 110 eur you are sure to get:

- A standalone HQ (16, 24 bit), remote, battery and USB powered field recorder via Line In (3,5 mm)

- Two very good condenser microphones ready to record

- A headphone amplifier

*- APH 1n - many useful accessories at a resonable good quality

I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anybody searching for a perfect multi-practic recording tool! For a product that's delivered it's promises, at the mentioned price - I think this is a very good deal!

It's all you need for recording

If you play guitar and sing and want to record quickly, this recorder is all you need, really. Small, light, and always ready. Just push REC button and all you may need is to cut it and add some compression... Zoom h4n is much more complicated and has a lot of unnecessary features, if you want to go simple and fast.

Cheap and versatile device

Great for studio live and concerts recording device. A lot of functions, easy to use, great quality for small price!

Lightweight but good features for price

Overall a good unit given its price.

The only cons are the lack of a supplied windsock or slip-on pop filter and it is very easy to clip the audio.

Used for weddings

I use a variety of these, along with their predecessors, for filming weddings. They are a versatile recorder; i use them along with the Rode smart-lav for close mic-ing grooms and celebrants; I tape them to wireless microphones in venues to record speeches; and finally i screw them to the top of small light stands to capture live musicians. The auto level feature and the limiter mean I never have to worry about setting levels, very handy when I'm setting up 5 of them in different positions for a ceremony.

Very good

Easy to use, sounds good and also works nice as an audio interface for my iPad via Apple's camera connection kit. It's incredibly light and feels a bit fragile, but I hope this is just a perception because of low weight.

Useful and handy!

This recorder is easy to use, easy to carry and good for multiple purposes, as long as you are careful and use proper technique there should be no problems with handling noise or risk of the product breaking, but that doesn't mean that it is indestructible or 100% resistant to extra noise.

Great little field recorder

The quality and the details of the recordings are incredible. The microphone on this devise is very sensitive and can pick up loud sounds from a great distance, so can be a little tricky to get clear field recordings if you are near a main road. Ive used this for recording foley for uni projects and it worked very well, Ive also used it for recording rehearsal sessions with my band, also worked great. Definitely recommend this product!

Great sound quality and features

As in the title, sound quality is excellent, it works perfectly as an audio interface or sd reader, and for the price I'd say it's just a perfect choice

Best price/quality product you can get

I use this little device for daily acoustic piano recordings, but also for recording acoustic guitars and vocal bits. The quality of the recording is great, even without post production.

Also, one of the big pros is the overall size and convenience of this tool. Can't go wrong with it!
