Zultan Rock Beat Profi Cymbalset Reviews
My drummer loves them
Bought them for my drummer who absolutely loves them. On par with significantly more expensive cymbals.
An obvious choice for everyone at this price range, though not suitable for everyone.
I really don't know what to think about this set - It's a nice set and and one of the best in this price range, but it has a few weak points that have me second-guessing whether I should change a few of the cymbals or not.
The hi-hat is absolutely golden - It has a nice stick definiton and also has a very crisp and perfectly responsive sound regardless of how you play it. Definitely a nice choice on its own if you don't want the whole set. I will be keeping and playing it until it's in pieces.
The 16-inch crash responds very nicely and feels nice to play and the tone overall is musical. My only complaint is that it is much higher in pitch than what I've heard in the review videos on Zultans channel, which kind of bothers me since I really don't like overly bright sounding cymbals and I feel like an idiot for thinking that the company's own reviews wouldn't be EQ'd to hell.
The 18-inch crash doesn't really do anything wrong and it fits into this set nicely. It feels a little less responsive and quicker to reach its maximum volume than the 16-inch cymbal - Doesn't really bother me, but it takes a little time getting used to the minimal difference in how it plays when riding on it etc.
The ride has a smooth sound and it has a nice stick definition, but it is very loud, so it's not the best choice for quiet music. I like the bell of it, since it has a rather dark ping and it's not as ear piercing as other ride bells I've heard, which I personally like.
My biggest disappointment with the ride is that it's quite thick and it doesn't respond well to crashing at all and it doesn't sound good if you try to crash on it, which I dont really like because I was used to crashing on my ride since I only had one crash before buying this set. Now I'm still stuck on two crashable cymbals - Nice ride for the money, but not for somebody who wants to crash on it.
TL;DR, Key points:
- Over-all all of the cymbals are very loud and aren't the optimal choice if you want to play quiet music. (at least not for me, since I am a hard hitter and the cymbals are loud as I said)
- The Hi-Hat is easily the strongest link in this set, since it has a crisp sound and I've yet managed to find situations where it doesn't fill its needs.
- 16-inch crash is very bright, which I dislike
- The ride isn't crashable and its a problem for me.
Amazing set for the money, but keep my negative points in mind if they happen to be things that bother you. If you would strictly use this set for practicing, then don't even think twice.
Don't know what happened to the cymbals when they changed the label on it and added 100€ to the price, but I guess you should never be late to a party.
Fantastishe cymbals great sounds and good price
Mid Range Brilliant Sound - Excellent Value
18" crash sounds very good with my Sabian AAX set. The bright cut delivers the crisp sound above its price class. 16" Crash(replacing an original Sabian B8 in my set). A great buy for mid level professional sound at an excellent price.
Great cymbals for a beginner
I was choosing the right cymbals for a month. I listened to recordings.
In real life the cymbals tend to be much more darker sound, which might be good and bad. I would prefer brighter sound with more linear behaviour (power of hit VS. volume). Probably the Aja series would be optimal for me.
Packing was enough. Bright finnish is dirty immediately.
Studio Quality sound at entry prices, cant beat it!
I love these cymbals, they are super versatile, studio quality sound and clarity.
When it arrived I was a bit disappointed, because it was horribly loud ( comparing to my meinl mcs's ), so I had to use it carefully and lightly at the rehearsals. Therefore it sounded bit different than the audio files, and many youtube videos I checked.
Whereas I gigged with this with much power and with amplification and it was surprisingly pleasant with great sustain and full tone. The 16 crash and the hihat are my favourites.
The bag is a decent touch, nothing too fancy, a regular 1 pocket cymbal bag, always good to have one.
Very nice sound. And for this money, u can t get something better. I love them
Best bang for the buck
I love these cymbals. Completely satisfied.
IMO, big brands at this price level make worse sounding cymbals.
I got these cymbals to play at home and for gigging (to preserve my best cymbals for studio).
- Crashes: lovely sound (heroes of this set).
- Hi-hat: crisp, clear, glassy, i like it.
- Ride: crashable (although not super easy to open), bell does have a ping (not the silentest and not the loudest).
- Pros: price, quality, crashes.
- Cons: at this price none (depending from personal preference, the ride or the hi-hat are the weaker part of the set, but still good imo).
A Customs on a budget!
I've been playing drums for about 6 years and the entire time I was playing on fairly low end cymbals. I recently got into recording live drums and the sound of those cheap cymbals was very overwhelming and didn't sound good at all.
I have researched a ton of cymbals suited for rock/metal recording and it basically came down to AAXes vs A Customs.
ENTER ZULTAN ROCK BEATS
Holy crap are these ever good. Just before I found out about these, I was testing a whole bunch of high end cymbals at my local music store and I am SO GLAD I bought these instead. They are absolutely amazing!
The Hihat is fairly loud, sounds very crisp but it doesn't have nasty overtones and there is a good amount of smooth stick definition!
The crashes are really nice. They have a sublime and elegant wash/sustain, the decay is just perfect.
The ride is veeery heavy. It's probably my least favorite from the set, but it's still mind blowingly good. The wash on it is particularly loud, so in some cases it can overwhelm the stick definition, but it's not that difficult to work around. The bell is the real kicker as its loud and cuts trough amazingly!
Overall, this set is a no brainer. If you're looking for your 1st studio set of cymbals, or just something that will sound amazing for a touring drummer, this is it!
Great sound !!! Great piece !!!
Worth the money? Definitely!!!
As i am relatively new to this whole drumming thing, i was not sure what to buy as my first cymbal set. I browsed around 50 different sets and finally got to this one. In samples it sounded awesome, price was relatively small and it came with it`s own bag.
Now i have used this set for like 5 month and i am loving it. As my technique is not perfect and i love heavy metal, i abuse them like boxing bag and they are still holding. Sound is nice although not quite what i was expecting. I don`t even know what else to mention here!
Pros: Price - AWESOME for what you get
Cary bag - I`m moving this set around 3x times a week and it still holds after 5 month. I would say it`s awesome
Cons: Sound was a bit different from samples that i heard here and in other reviews. Dont get me wrong it it is till really good, but i was looking into a bit different pitch.
Overall: This product almost got 3x 5stars from me but after i thought about it - sound could have been more what i was expecting. On the other hand what did i expect for this price? right? :)
Impressing quality and sound
Iam really really impressed by the quality of the sound of these babies. It is really affordable and good value. For Rock and Metal music these are perfect.
I highly recommend this set to everyone. With proper maintenance, this set sounds, looks and feels like high end ones, despite its price.
Awsome china cymbal
Very nice shape, fine finish, quality material usage.
cons: Nothing so far.
pros: Very good cymbal for this price.
best cymbals deal
i use the cymbals for both rehearals and live shows and im completely amazed by the sound that a set of cymbals within this price range can have. recommended them to a lot of people
Great Value for Money
These were purchased to go with the new drum set that we have for our forming band at church. They have been great and are clearly good quality. The crashes complement each other really well and you can get a good ring on the ride.
The only downside is that I can't make the hi-hats sound nice together but that is maybe user error.
If I had to buy cymbals again, I'd certainly consider these - they are well worth the investment.
Very nice cymbals
Drummers that came and used my cymbals were really surprised . Nice Rock sound.

Brilliant set of rock cymbals
I bought these as a cheaper way of getting back into drums from e-drumming. Zultan have impressed me alot. the hats are very versatile and do everything needed. the 18" crash is great all round. the 16" quite explosive with a quicker decay and the ride has a great bell, works well ridden and has a nice defined ping to it. highly recommend. Just bought the china to complete the set too!!
Superb
Sound great, highly recommended.
