FetHead : Simplifies dynamic microphones with possible noisey interfaces
I use the triton FetHead with an RE320 - and a scarlett 2i2 - for online teaching (covid means teaching from home). Tried it with a 421, and a 57, and a beyerdynamic mkii, which all respond well.
Really simple to use, plug and play.
Nice clear clean gain boost once phantom power is on
No change to tone detected, but I haven't gotten Forensic with it, the boost in gain means less gain on the preamp, so no noise from lots of gain on the interface, and seems clean with long cable runs - haven't gone beyond 10m cable/run - but I'd trust it, and try it with a longer run, if the need arose.
It's plain and simple, - no features, no buttons or dials or switches,
feels sturdy - not sure how it'd take a knock while in the microphone, (if it took a knock looks like it could damage itself or the microphone) but once it's unplugged it transports easily - very small, could fit in a pocket or a pouch on a backpack, very easily and seems like you could drive over it without any issues.
Very happy I bought it, immediately made me want to buy another - perhaps the germanium one.
