14" Ambassador Coated : The head for snare drums

These heads are often rated as the most popular heads for snare drums on the market. There is good reason for this, the single ply head will bring out the crispness and crack of your snare drum and give you that "classic" snare sound you hear on countless classic rock albums.

The downside is due to constant use on your snare they do wear quite quickly and the white coat soon chips off in the stroke area. If you use big sticks or hit hard you'll also dent these quite easily. I've used these also on a 14" tom and found they do last longer due to less play.

Overall a great head for an open, lively snare sound. If, however, you'd prefer something longer lasting I'd recommend the Emperor X Coated Dot.
