C1000s MKIV : AKG C1000s MKIV
I bought this microphone to use as a second/third microphone while mostly recording acoustic guitars.
The mic is well built and has the nice feature of being able to use AA batteries.
The sound of this mic on its own is a bit bright for my liking, but when used with an acoustic with a built in pickup etc, it can get some very good results after a bit of adjustment.
Overall I think it is a pretty decent microphone for the money and would be more than adequate for somebody who wants to make a simple recording of an acoustic guitar.
I've also used it with other mics while recording a banjo and it was more than capable of getting a usable sound.
