Adam T5V Reviews
Awesome budget monitors
I?ve bought them cause I love Adam as a brand and needed new nearfield monitors. They are great for a small room.
The highs are remarkebly clear and the mids are very transparent.
For their size they also deliver a pretty good sound in the lows.
Only thing is, that they do make a little noise, but it?s not critical I think. They still are budget speakers.
Better than every other monitors I?ve heard in this price range and even than some middle class monitors, I think.
Definitely would recommend them!
Great sound for a small monitor
I ordered one monitor to use with my DJ setup, and wow this thing packs a punch. Good bass for its size, and they almost sound better than my old A7s. The only downside is that the volume control is on the back, I'd rather have it on the front like with the A7s.
Amazing with noise
The smalest of them all, they sound amazing, however the power is quite low (I'm using a scarlet 2i2 2nd gen), needed to push the gain to +8db in the back so I can ear when solo stuff in mixing, but this drag floor noise, so it's a compromise. The build is awsome
Must-have monitors
Very good sound from the legendary brand. Great sound, nice look, very high quality. The best buy ever, I think!
Great Monitor for its price
Got my pair about 1 year ago, still working fine. I mainly use them for making guitar covers and listen to music.
Pros:
It has a very balanced and strong output, very good for living room music playing as well as listening to the guitar voice from effects processor. Great equipment for making music.
Cons:
EQ not as flat as the Yamaha HS series, but at this price I am satisfied by what i get.
Best All-rounders for the price.
My Emes Waldorf monitors were up for replacement. These were over twice the price when new, so I didn't expect a fair comparison but hoped the Adams would be acceptable. Much to my surprise though, these Adams had deeper lows and higher highs than the Emes did! Moreover, they provide such a wide frequency range without becoming boomy or shouty. This gentle behaviour means the mid-range isn't pushed away like often happens with cheaper speakers.
Compared to the Yamaha HS5/HS7, the midrange is less expressive, which can be tricky when mixing guitars and vocals. But the overall frequency response is much broader, allowing for more 'air' to be heard in the mix. Also, the Yamaha's can be very tiring to listen to.
The T7V has even deeper low-end and provides more punch for bigger rooms. However, the T5V is slightly tighter in the midrange and more suitable for true near-field monitoring. Looking for Hi-Fi speakers in the living room? Get the T7V! looking for really transparent monitors in a small studio? Get the T5V! Truly the best all-round monitors for the price!
Downside: No power indicator light on the front, so it's hard to tell whether they're on or off.
Great bang for the buck monitors for quality/design
Solid monitors that provide punchy bass, crystal highs and range-full mids.
I've been using them for curation and playing the keys, I could not be any more satisfied for 5'' monitors I believe. The design is also sleek and the twitter cage stands out.
The ribbon twitters produce crystal highs however they are quite more directional than standard twitters so its essential in your setup that they are aligned with your ears correctly.
Overall highly recommended, especially considering the price.
Clean and pleasant sound
I've been wanting to buy some speakers from Adam audio for a long while and now that they have released a budget version I was finally able to get some for myself and I couldn't be happier.
I used to have problems with ear fatigue after many hours of making music in the studio, but that problem is completely gone with these speakers. I can listen and produce music on them for hours and my ears are just fine.
The strongest point these speakers have is their sound quality. It has a lot of depth, making it a lot easier to hear the separate sounds in your mix (or even in tracks you have heard a million times)
I gave a lesser rating to the features because there are not many controls provided for your sound (just a 2db boost or reduction on highs and lows) but then again, the sound is already so good that it needs little adjustment. Also, these speakers have a lower volume then most speakers so it's best to have a decent soundcard or mixer connected to them to get the most out of it.
These monitors are incredible for the price. They look awesome and sound awesome. Previously I had a pair of Yahama HS5 and for my ear they were missing low end but these Adam monitors have a well balanced sound.
Sweet little speakers
These are some very decent speakers for their price and their looks. Go on and buy them if you want a set of small speakers, but mind you, they'rea little boomy. At low levels they sound "complete" due to the detailed highs. The dynamics are also well translated as well as the micro dynamics. What they lack is the low mids clarity, but no different to the competition at this price range. So, if at this price range, go for the quality tweeters and the best looks!
Great studio monitors
Bought a pair of these for my home studio. They are very high quality and the tweeter is just different from the usual horn twitters.
Getting a T10s to extend the lower end and add more amplification to the monitors.
Great
Clear sound, almost no hissing sound while idle, perfect resolution, recommended and ideal for bedroom studios espacially small bedrooms. You can hear the bass truely even at low volume levels. There no negative sides. We already know tweeters(U-art).
Excellent budget monitor speakers. I was between them and the Hs5 and I'm more than happy with the Adam. Clear sound flat , loud with solid quality.
Great monitors.
I use these mostly for metal music and some electronic stuff etc. I have had these monitors about 4 months. Good time to write review.
I always was intrigued by Adam monitors ( I had null experience with ribbon monitors) , till now Adams have been little out of my price range. First I was going for Tannoys for my new monitors but Adam in this price range, I had to have these. Where I live there is not much opportunities to listen before buying so all monitors I have bough, I have bought based on reviews so I hope this helps you to decide. I am mostly home recording-song writing enthusiast. I have done it also professionally for some time but as soon as the fun part was gone and I decided to keep it more as a hobby and fun. I use pair Adam T5V in my home, no special room treatment etc. Recording, production, composing etc. you name it. In the past I have had Behringer, Yamaha and M-Audio monitors. So far Adam T5V have been the best ones. I do not know much of monitors, I just have bought the ones I could afford and felt decent monitors. So why Adam T5V are good IMHO. First and in my mind best thing, they do not fatigue ears. Yes they have been advertised that with ribbon tweeters you can work much longer period of times, and they are totally right. I have done long session 8-10 hour sessions and ears are not tired. With other monitors I have had, 8 hour session was already kind a pain. Second thing, they sound natural and "warm" ( I apologize if this is not right term but that one comes to mind). You can hear everything but it does not sound "harsh" if I am making any sense :). I do not have any experience with these monitors with dance/rap/ etc music with very deep bass so I cannot comment on that but If you are into rock/metal/ambient stuff, these work very well. Perfect for home or small studio. So if you are looking for pair of new good affordable ribbon monitors (of course there is cheaper and good monitors but with ribbon tweeters I have not yet come across) you cannot go wrong with these.
amazing small speakers
i bought it for my desk, but i have tried out in the living room. it worked surprisingly well, and blows away the similar priced hifi speakers. honestly, i cannot remember so good speaker like that in this class/size. it is punchy, well balanced.
so massive! I love them.. right price!
I've got them! I can't believe it, 5 inch monitor and I can hear this great punchy bass? small enough for my 3x4 room. very impressive. 4years ago i was with my olds hs8, I sold them because those was too big for my room, after that, last year i've got the hs7, solded again, and now i find the right one for my room. Guys this monitor are very good! delicious ribbon twitter, great punchy bass, and clear sound, a must as nearfield monitor in a small room!!
after a lot of time i really understand that a good small monitor can give me all i need and the 8 or 7 inch woofer are wery dangerous in wrong size room!
very Good design, very good price, very good sound.
Great Choice
I spent almost a month to find one of the best in the price range between 300-400 Euros (bought a pair of these) and I can surely say that I've never felt so satisfied with a purchase before!
I usually record and mix electric guitars and do voiceover projects, and these monitors are providing me more than I need, especially on bass side of things (for its size of course)
I can never say anything even neutral about these monitors, please at least try these.
''Your first Adam Studio Monitors''
I'm using these monitors to listen and produce music, mostly House/Disco/Hip-Hop, they are set on acoustic foam on top of a pair of Gravity stands to optimize the sonic experience.
Before, i had the opportunity to listen to other monitors such as Adam A7X (wich are awesome, with a great definition in the whole frequence spectrum, if you can afford em just go for them), JBL LSR 305 (wich are truely amazing considering the price, just slightely less clear in the highs and lows than the Adam F5 or T5V), Yamaha HS7 wich lack bass imo and KRK that in this case, had too much bass... just a matter of taste i guess.
Its been about half a month i have them and i have tried several sources on them like different kind of music coming from my computer and synths and drummachines coming from a mixing desk.
So far they sound really great for this ratio price/quality, no doubt about that, build like a tank, they provide very clear highs, an awesome stereo image reproduction (pan) and tight yet deep bass. The only thing i could complain about are the mediums, i just wish they could be a little more present, on some tracks im listenning to, when it comes to pads/violin/keys, i often need to gain the mid range a little +2 or +3db on the EQ so it sounds the way i want, again, maybe thats just a matter of preferences, my ears are a bit picky now, despite this, they are really impressive you can listen to them for hours without any fatigue as the brand promise, and as they say on their website, these are the perfect choice for you if your looking for your first studio monitors, no matter what kind of music you're listenning to, you won't regret it ;)
Cheers!
