They are quality!

WOW

great sound, very flat and sounds wide, go loud! and no distortion/coloration, these are meant for mixing/mastering purposes.

Good sound and good quality for very good price, and comfort is top notch especially with the velour ear pads

Best headphones in their price range

If you want a flat and precise sound reproduction at a low price, these are the headphones for you. Powerful and clear.

Moreover, they are super comfortable! I have big ears and I thought that the large pads could be a nuisance, but no, even after an hour of continuous use I feel no itching at all!

In general terms, they sound very good. Above all, they are very well defined. Someone who needs to hear the bass very loud, will not have it with these headphones. However, this is why you get a much less colorful and above all, more accurate mix.

Quality price is a strong point here.

Best headphones!

Using it with amp for nighttime playing and it is perfect. Very good sound isolation and clarity of sound. Also very light and comfortable, will forget that you are wearing them.

Ah, AKG

To preface this, I am no expert in "high end super awesome headphones" (then again, you wouldn't be looking at these headphones for that) - however, here is my two cents:

I have replaced these with Beyerdynamic 770 Pro 80 Ohm and the difference in sound is simply staggering.

AKG's are very very flat - it is not even dependent on the mix, the bass is simply lacking - they are open headphones, so that is to be expected.

What you should also expect is a lot of sound leaking (again, expected), but don't think you can blaze some music late at night. These do get loud, but others in your household will be able to hear it.

Were it not for 770's, I would be using these still as they are very good at guitar tracking/playing, BUT - not very great in overall enjoyment of the music (well, 770's are better in my opinion).

The quality seems okay, they're not bulletproof, but they can survive a fall from the desk.

Great quality headphones for the price!

Bought these for use with my audio interface and a guitar.

Pros:

- Sound is relatively flat so great for those who don't want the sound to be too coloured.

- Comes with two sets of cables and velour pads. This is similar to the original AKG K240 and for a price difference of around $5 it is a steal.

- Build quality is decent for the price

Cons

- Not for bassheads. If you are looking for prominent bass then this is not for you.

- Very light, which may not exactly give the feeling of being sturdy.

All in all, this is a bang for the buck headphone! Would buy it again in a heartbeat!

top quality of audio and build

I bought the MKII primarily for my bass guitar practice, either connected to the amp, or to monitor via the DI.

Fantastic sound quality, and solid sturdy construction (I use them at home, so this is a nice to have edition for me). design is also very foo, and the soft/ velvet ear pads are a delight to wear

A feels and listen like a cheap version of the K240 reference headphones

please stay off of this pair. It feels and sounds like a cheap knock-off of the legendary K240 headphones. DO NOT use these for professional work. better headphones are out there from AKG That are true reference headphones

Good value headphones

I was searching for good open headphones, but they tend to be quite expensive, so I tried this model. They sound good, clear, open, the highs are not too harsh and the image is good. Bass are there, but they are not too prominent and not too articulate.

Build quality seems ok, let's see how long they will last.

The coiled cable is nice and handy if you use them in tiny spaces.

Their main problem is the pads. The pleather ones are comfortable but this headphones sounds best with the velour, which are terrible and way too stiff. I had to buy other companies velour pads (and foam net to re-balance the highs), so keep this in mind if you want to use the velour pads.

Overall, I'm satisfied!

The right side stopped working after 2 years of good service.

pretty decent headphones for this price, the only thing i dont like is the comfort. If u use it for like 5 hours, your ears will probably hurt hahah, its good to know before ordering :)

Excellent for the money

Intended to use it for silent guitar practice. I thought it was absolutely great for the money, but I was looking for slightly better headphones which do justice to the thick lows of specifically guitar music, and the top end was a bit harsh. I found it wasn't able to deal with treble and presence controls too well. To be expected for the money, but should be noted. I ultimately returned mine. Would still recommend it on a budget though, as I spent 5x as much before I was satisfied.

Great headphones

I just bought my 3rd pair because these are my favorite headphones. Sound quality is very good and also the fit is great. Use them for hours without painfull ears.

My second pair to purchase, I prefer the colour of the original but that's not relevant when rating a product! Highly recommend

Very Happy

Affordable price, I practice bass through it and they sound good.

Most importantly they are extremely comfortable (even with glasses), and I can (and do) keep them on for hours and hours.

I guess my neighbourhoods are happy too.

I bought the headphones mainly to use them when I play the piano at night and to play guitar via plugins. The sound is very balanced and clear.

The build quality could be improved, but they seem sturdy enough for home use.

For the price they're great, highly recommended.

Pretty nice headphones for the price.

I purchased these to replace a pair of Superlux HD681 EVO that suddenly died (developed some phasing issues cancelling most frequencies.)

My first impression of the AKG K240 MKII was an awful, boxy, low-mid heavy sound... silly me, I just forgot that these are brand new and will need some "burning" time. So after a day or two they revealed the hidden gem inside - pretty clean and detailed sound, with very good panoramic stage. I did as a test 10 mixes of theatrical music and they translated pretty well on the theater sound system, just slightly bass frequencies heavy.

The build quality is good (they survived the first fall from my work desk) and ergonomically they are great - very lightweight, pretty flexible, big enough (I got a big head, yeah) and the earcups are going around the whole ear just as I prefer.

Overall, after two weeks of using AKG K240 MKII, I am pretty satisfied with my purchase and can definitely recommend them if you are looking for studio grade headphones in that price range.
