Love it
This was a rush-replacement fo one of my C390B Mics that broke. Primary use is on HiHat and it's been on many shows with me on tour. Happy I got it.
Great instrument mic
I'm using this mic primarily to record didgeridoo, which is why I don't mind its tendency to pick up a lot of low-end frequencies. That said, I've done some other recordings with it and they sounded very clean as well.
Overall, it's a very solidly-built mic that is meant to be used in close proximity to an instrument. This is something that is really nice in my case, since it won't pick up any breath sounds and does not need to be used in a perfectly sound-treated environment. It has a great response for objects that are near to the mic, and nothing else.
Getting One Everytime I Lose One
There is something about the 4k - 10k response that make it great with male vocals with the right pop filter
For hats
That’s why I got it. Affordable quick easy decent hat mic. I’m going to also use it as an experiment mic on a second acoustic position.
You get what you pay for.
This mic is handy to have, works in live situation for loud sources like overheads, but I would never use it in studio. It has a lot of noise.
Simple, straightforward, good
Used it for acoustic guitar.
- could use a bit more dynamic, may sound a bit `flat`
- lack of features (just a -20dB pad)
- slightly `bleedy`, could isolate better
+ transparent, balanced sound, not tinny like the cheap Behringers
+ very good build quality
Above expectations
Only 4 stars for features since it is fixed pattern, obviously. Other than that, I just ordered a second one to use as stereo pair. It’s the “sm57” version of the km184’s.
AKG P170
Best condenser microphone out there for the price! Wanted to try out cheaper condenser microphones to mic my overheads at home! It definitely has a little bit low rumble but learn to use it and there is no explanation for not doing good recordings with this! Insanen!
Great for the price
For the price there decent little overhead mics, great if your like me and just need mics that as decent but not overly expensive
Cheap and good condenser mic
I am using this for choirs, drums OH/hi-hat. Good sound for the price.
