American Audio TTD 2400 USB MKII Reviews
Extremely annoying
I don't know if it is just my particular unit, but this turntable has been a disappointment from the beginning. I bought the lid, knowing about the less than stellar reviews, and I can confirm it is nigh on impossible to mount. But the main problem is the arm. There is so much friction in the arm mount that it doesn't move freely with the pickup. This resistance means that the pickup tends to skip the groove to stay in the same place. I have tried to adjust it 200 times, but I have now given up on it. It looks nice, though.
Motor
The motor feels very weak. Spinnup is slow and when one holds the vinyl while motor is on, it looses speed even with few sheets of papper between slipmat and platter. After working with sl 1200 this feels like toy.
With decent stylus Sound ok.
Pour avoir utilisé de longues années LA MkII , ca tient bien la route !
Great value turntable for anyone.
Simple, no fuss turntable. An easy way to get into DJing or just records in general cheaply without it missing out on important stuff. Direct drive is good, not had any issues so far. Speed is good, easy way to make sure its at the right speed. I've only had it a day, but so far, this is a good turntable at a great price.
Great deck for the price
The deck is a solid direct drive deck. To be honest for the price you wont find a better deck. i have no faults. I changed the needle out myself as i prefer ortofon.
Better than expected
This is my first introduction to a turntable similar to the Technics. I honestly was not expecting much. But I cannot fault it. Its quick off the mark, its got a nice feel to the platter and you can easily mix with this. If youre looking for home use only turntables for mixing I would highly reccommend this! Top marks!
simple
simple to use for basic scratching and mixing
American Audio TTD 2400 USB
Not the best quality but great for the price.
A new tip is pretty much mandatory as soon as you buy it, but otherwise it's fantastic.
Wish the dust cover was still available.
Bang for the buck
I'm using it for recording and listening. It is an even cheaper alternative to Audiotechnics.
It's build solid, no finicky buttons or dials. You get what you paid for,and then some. Super easy setup.
Cons : No cover included, but you knew that from the product's description, did you?
The sound is pretty nice realtive to the price, i use it in my DJ setup and you have to change a needle for dj use, but i have to say it works out pretty good, great if you don't have the budget for sl1200's or something alike.
very good TT for the money I would even go with the non-usb feature
great TT also with the already built in Audiotechnica spherical needle. but then I have upgrade the cartridge to ortofon OM2 (older model) costs 49 EUR, and it's heaven on a Turntable plate.
only minus point (and I don't need the cover i don't have a place for it) is that the lift (that lifts the arm does not go high enough so the space between the needle and the turntable is minimal I had to wrap some sellotape around the rim of the lift to make the needle go higher, but this is fixable.
basically it looks the same as the Lenco L3808 (swiss brand ) without the extra light for DJs which i don't need. i am sure it's made in the same chinese factory.
very sturdy, plate is also very sturdy.
Decent product for newbies
The AA TTD 2400 USB is a decent turntable if you want a good sound and have just a small budget.
The quality of the turntable mechanics and plastic core is just decent, BEWARE: don't buy the dust cover (which is sold separately) because its anchoring mechanism is flawed and you won't be able to mount it unless inventing another way to do it. I think it's a design error by American Audio, its springs are just too rigid and can't be inserted where they should. The springs also don't stay fixed in their position because they seems incompatible with their plastic slots.
Apart from this idiotic issue, the turntable works perfectly, it's very easy to use and also connectable to your pc via usb. Anyway the overall quality is just decent.
American Audio TTD 2400 USB
got this really for transferring from vinyl through the usb to the computer. the needle it comes with is not brilliant and this is a very important point of transfer.
Decent Turntable
The Turntable American Audio TTD 2400 USB is a really decent product, if you just have to pay attention to the price or you only want to see if the hobby of DJ or mixing suits you.
The overall quality is also neat, so that one can speak of a good quality too.
The sound quality is decent, although it could be a bit clearer. The sound comes short to more expensive turntables.
There are no special features, so there is nothing special to say.
As a disadvantage that lack of cover has to be mentioned. So I would urgently recommend to buy a proper cover for it.
