Antelope Edge Solo

One of the key features of the Edge Solo is its design. It is equipped with a high-quality condenser capsule that provides a wide frequency range and high sensitivity, allowing it to capture every nuance of audio with great precision. This makes it an ideal choice for recording vocals, instruments, and other audio sources. Another important aspect is its microphone modeling technology. Antelope Audio is known for its high-tech modeling algorithms that allow it to simulate the sound of various legendary microphones. This allows the user to customize the sound of the microphone to suit specific needs or preferences, opening up new possibilities for creativity in the recording process. In addition, the Edge Solo features an ergonomic and stylish design. Its compact size and sturdy construction make it easy to use and portable, allowing you to take it with you into the studio or on road recordings. It also features an integrated pop filter that helps reduce unwanted noise and interference when recording. Overall, the Antelope Edge Solo is a high-quality and feature-rich condenser microphone that offers professional sound quality, extensive customization options, and ease of use. It is ideal for a wide range of recording applications, from studio sessions to live performances, and will be a reliable partner for sound engineers and musicians.

Avoid this microphone

The microphone is quite good at first, but after all, this mic couldn’t function as usual as it was very sensitive to the humidity. It couldn’t pick up any sound but only static noise.

According to the Antelope user community, they all have the same problem of this microphone as mine. It’s all have the defect even you fix it, it’s still happen.

Please considered about this point before purchase.

Good for finding the right sound

Nice microphone. It works well. Great for people who search their sound. Also good for learning and comparison.

Minus - no shockmount.

Emulation works, it doesn't work, noise, etc. and the microphone, on the contrary, is not bad

100% Recomendado

This condenser microphone is very good, it can simulate the sound of many things, and the sound is not bad, and the reproduction is very high, very similar to the microphone I bought, I like the sound very much, suitable for small recording studios, the price is not expensive, the price is very high , I recommend this microphone, buy one and try it out, maybe you will be pleasantly surprised

Great Specs but disappointed

Very enthusiast before receiving this condenser mic but very disappointed till now. I have received three units on three different occasions and not one worked properly. Ranging from no signal at all to working only for a couple of seconds. I don't know if its the microphone itself the problem or only the units with the retailer.

Sounds great but much harder to use then my previous focusrite solo. It took me 2 days to set up the audio interface.I got a bro

Advantages

+ Sounds great much better the focusrite

+ Emulation is great

+ Great support team very frequently answering

Disadvantages:

- I got broken usb type c cable and interface was working unstable I don’t ger any compensation about this cable

- It takes 2 days to set it up

- If you want to use mic emulation in your DAW you actually need ILOK3. It just can’t be done without ilok

- Not convenient that input ports is on back

- Only 2 ports It says that that is 4 in interface. But can’t find how can I use spdif in ports. You only can connect some expensive preamps. So If you need more then 2 inputs find another interface it will be cheaper then bought this preamp.

- You can’t lend somebody an interface. It’s just to slow to resettle this interface

- it takes almost one month to deliver this interface to Ukraine. Focusrite you just connect it and it works without any additional software

Great sounding mic and emulations

Got it with the Zen Go mic set, and I'm very pleased with the sound quality so far.

This is a great microphone! It was sold together with my audio interface Discrete 4 synergy core, I really like the effect of emulating different microphones, the sound itself is very clear. I only use it!

Great mic

I have a small project studio and mainly do overdubs and mixing. Got this bundled with a discrete 8, while it's got its limitations re pattern switching it's a great mic. Add the modeling and it takes its usefulness up a big step. I've had the privilege to have used some of the models. And with a bit of care you can get very very good results. Especially when used in conjunction with the DSP mic pres on board the discrete 8. Great stuff. My only gripe is having to have a USB iLock to use natively. Even ProTools is soft key these days..... 4 stars rather than 5 because of that.

Very transparent mic, requires the antelope plugin or interface for the emulations, which sound great! For this price it is hard to beat all the sonic options it gives.

I'm tempted to buy another one.

Very clean sound

Since I do not own any of the mics that the Edge Solo models I cannot state with authority whether the emulations are accurate, although I have sung through some of these modelled mics at other studios. I would say though that singing into this mic is gratifying, in the way that singing into a Neumann U67 is gratifying, and that the quality of the recorded sound is excellent (TLA preamp/Nuendo). Acoustic guitars recorded through this also sound good, slightly better than my Beyer MC834. Thumbs up from me.
