good instrument to learn DongXiao. pro version is a little bit more "solid" bamboo and more ornamentation, but sound is pretty much the same with this one. would buy again, very good to learn about this intrument without spending much

Amazing sound, super hard to play

I played a lot of flutes and i can say that this particular one is hard to play. It requires a lot of practice to form a proper embushure.

However the sound is magical, very woody and soft. Recommend.

It's OK

It's OK for the price. Does not resonate very well. Sounds a little thin. Maybe because it's made from not very good material. Perhaps good for beginners or casual players who only wish to know about the instrument.

very good quality

Perfect Xiao for me as a beginner. It took me a while to blow sounds out of it. But the low sound “so” of with all holes covered is manageable after practice. Unlike my previous £20 G dongxiao, which has cracked and hard for beginner, this one is so smooth to play and in a very good state after 1 year of playing.
