Solid Interface

This has been my interface for a while. It looks and sounds good. Pretty much what you put in is what you get. The headphone converters are great. Would recommend.

Best in price range

The preamps and software control make this the best in class

Review

It took me a long time to choose a budget sound card for my home studio. I had to choose between Audient and Focusrite.

But after weighing up the pros and cons, I chose this model.

It has many more advantages than the price. Two inputs for two pairs of headphones, quality sound, quality preamp for microphones and a wonderful quality case.

For a home studio from the budget segment it is the best option.

Amazing quality

i love using it, other than the outstanding quality of sound, amazing metal quality and amazing design and app.

good with latency probably due to usb 3.0

Nice

The Audient iD14 MKII is a stellar audio interface. It boasts exceptional sound quality, top-notch mic preamps, and a solid build. Its user-friendly design and MIDI I/O make it a versatile and reliable choice for any musician or producer.

Great choice!

I ordered this interface in the spring. I like the audio quality, use it in conjunction with a microphone Audio-Technica AT2035.

Noice from input channels

Accidentally i have got extra-loud noise from the input channels without any inserts, about once per 2 month. (Host OS: macosx 12.6.1 on M1).

Required re-connect by USB-C and ID application relaunch.

Also this ID application icon on mac is available only in system tray and it is impossible to move and it is always disappears while system tray icons more than 12. (May be it's not an Audient bug, but macos, but i had no such problem with another cards).

Impossible to manage volume by standard macbook buttons.

I can't say this is a premium card. I had never such problem with cheap M-Audio cards, with Digitakt as a card or with Yamaha mixer as a card.

Disappointed.

Greate Audio Interface

This is a high-quality audio interface at a reasonable price. It doesn't have substantial analog gain but it gets the job done. Preamps are low-noise and clean.

good preamps. I'm surprised that for such a price this audio interface can drive 250 ohm headphones. Recommended for purchase.

I am happy with it

Actually it surprised me about the build quality. Feels so durable and solid. But main volume button is not that much stable, kinda sloppy. The voice quality is more than enough because it is not fair to compare it with Apollo's voice quality due price gap but I would really like to compare between this with UA's Volt series. I will edit my comment when I am going to have a chance to compare them because I was in dilemma between this and Volt.

Cons: Every time when I am starting it speaker and headphone volume level being minimum, it would be great if it would be possible to set starting volume. And it would be actually amazing to being able to set two different start volume for speaker and headphone. Like I mentioned before, main volume button does not matching with general build quality, feels sloppy. I hope it won't be broken after one year lets see.

Pros: I am thinking volume quality is really good even for some pro level recording. I am not pro but I do not think that you can find better voice quality in this price range. It is amazing idea that it has 3.5 and 6.5 input for headphones so you don't have to worry about adapters etc in case you need. Build quality feels really nice, design is simple and looks nice and colours are perfectly matching with MacBooks. If you have color matching obsession for your work place/desk it will be good match! :)

Great Value

I bought this iD14 MKii to replace my focusrite gen2 audio interface.

I found it very easy to install and configure. I use it primarily for recording guitar and found the JFET preamp gives the DI a nice tone. The overall sound is much cleaner than than my focusrite and I'm very happy I made the switch.

I find it hard to believe that you can get a professional sounding (and feeling) product for the this price.

Extremely happy that I bought this interface

For a home studio, that's it. Pleased with the number of inputs / outputs, the quality of the preamps, as well as the usability of the buttons. I recommend this option for home sessions!

Input level imbalanced issue between left and right channel

I don't know if it's a problem of my unit, or a design defect in general, but when using external devices with line level signals, in input to the id14's L/R channels, I need to raise gain on channel 1 (left) to 8 o'clock in order to have the same level of the channel 2 (right) leaving it at the minimum gain level.

GREAT QUALITY AT AN AMAZING PRICE

Audient is a great brand and having the ability to have a similar sound to their consoles but in a smaller packaging that is portable for a travelling musician.

For some use cases this is the best audio interface below 400$.

Nice quality metal chassis. Great sounding input and output preamps.

Enough gain on mic inputs to drive sure sm57 without additional amplification. Gain control could be a bit better. First 90% of gain gives smooth slow change. On last 10% every movement gives much more pronounced changes. Also the last 10% starts to get quite noisy - escpecially so with the phantom power engaged.

Headphone output is great with higher impedence headphones. Unfortunatelly with low impedence headphones it losses its flat response.

The instrument input on the front is great for both low and high output guitars and basses (had some software glitch at first which made high output guitar clip even on lowest gain setting, after reset it handles the output with enough headroom). However using the instrument input takes over one mic input so You can only record two tracks at once, but I think that most interface in this price range behave that way.

My biggest gripe is latency. At buffer size of 32 I am getting about 7 ms round trip latency on 2020 Macbook M1 (tested with rtl utility and cable looping back output to input). It's about the same that my 12 year old Komplete Audio interface. It's not that bad for tracking guitar (depending of course on additional latency introduced by plugins used) but tracking vocals with this latency gets quite annoying.

The software mixer that comes with the interface is very nice. You can create seperate mixes and easily control the routing of inputs to ouputs. Internal loopback is a nice addition, though it would be nice to be able to assign virtual loopbacks input to different mixer inputs. Now the loopback is on inputs 11 and 12, in some applications (like zoom, teams, discord etc.) you cannot choose which input is being used - they just pass whats on input 1 and 2 by default.

All in all very nice interface. Superb audio quality for the price. If you don't plan on using high gain guitars and don't mind the round trip latency, this is the best audio interface to buy at this price point

Great

the Audient iD14 MKII has some problem out of package. However, it is all good now after the firmware update.

Great Design

I loved the design of id14. Sound quality is just great and it is smaller than it looks in the pictures and this is very good for carrying

Very good

The Audient has given me the best sounding vocals I have been able to record at home. Far superior to the Focusrite Scarlett (same mike, same preamp) and also much better than the Volt from UA.

Unbelievable price for this quality.

Hopefully they will also be inserting a built-in compressor in the future ...
