Best value for money ever

I always suggest the ID22, pre-amp are great as well as the converters. For this money you can’t find better audio interfaces.

The program isn’t always very intuitive but it’s ok. Some audio interfaces are easier to be carried around but it’s just a minor issue.

Good piece until it fails

It's quite capable as long as it lasts but has a design flaw concerning a cheap capacitor placed at the wrong place. That's the most common and inevitable fail these devices are prone to. Mine had a different failure though.

You can have a good run or end up with a dead box in 1-2 years.

Audition this interface now

High quality build and audio and easy to use. The controls feel solid and are easy to change settings. The choice of options is good especially for microphone input vocal usage. The speaker outs sound fantastic too through my Adam A8X monitors as does the headphone output. I have recorded tens of albums using this interface and have had top quality results. Highly recommended.

Have this a few years now but it was doomed from the start!

Some really cool features but was let down by the build, inputs went after 6 months, constant static noise on the outputs, had so much potential so maybe they improved it on the ID44 but I would advise against purchasing the ID22!.... please read reviews on gearspace before considering!

the one that i got keeps randomly crackling and popping. otherwise very good interface, but it annoys me so much i might send it back.

Phenomenal

I use this in the home studio, and I've been blown away. Definitely the best in the price range.

I use the DI input daily, the converters and preamps are solid. The software is straight forward and the mixer is well laid out and intuitive.

It's pro audio at a budget price!

Best interface in the mid-price segment

This is seriously the best audio interface in the mid-price segment. Converters are top noch, mic preamps are great, DI input is great, the monitor controller is super handy and the software very easy to use.

Pros:

- Outstanding converters and preamps

- DI input is great

- Handy monitor controller with pristine sound

- Software driver is easy to use

- Very good price

Cons

- Pretty high crosstalk on the headphone output - maybe thats just my unit

- I wish they put the DI input and Headphone output at the front of the unit

- no on/off button

I own much more expensive Orion Antelope as well and Audient ID22 converters are definitely in the same ligue. I'm seriosly thinking about upgrading to the bigger brother iD44.

Audio interface works great with nice preamps

I've had this audio interface for years and so far i haven't gotten any hiccups with it whatsoever. I know it's a little bit sensitive to heat but other than that, it's a great work horse. The Software interface is easy to use and comes with two different layouts.

Great interface

This is exactly what i was looking for. The versatility with the expandability of the 8 channel over adat with passthrough from your daw is amazing. The software does go crazy when your adat external clock isn't the same sample rate though!

Very high quality for a reasonable price

The quality of the preamps and digital converters has made a huge difference to my recordings. I initially brought the iD14 but was disappointed in the output level (a 6 db difference between the two models) and to some extend the "coloured" quality of the sound. So I returned it and got this instead. This sound is more transparent, there's more headroom before clipping in recordings, and it's more expandable. I can't recommend this strongly enough if you want to record at a pro level. There are some glitches in the software, with it crashing a few times and notifying me that the clocking isn't synchronised even when it is, but these are not major issues. Mostly it works fine and sounds incredible.

Good sound and a lot of features for the price - Sadly broke after 3.5 years.

I've been using the Audient ID22 for 3.5 years, all in my home studio. Sound is good both in and out and I like the interface. The converters are really good for the price. It has a lot of capabilities in form of in and outs, even though I haven't used half of them since I don't have the need.

Sadly the interface broke down 3.5 years into use. A hissing sounds has appeared an after some research this has happened to a lot of users about 4 years into use. The build inside the interface is not great and easily causes capacitators to melt. I wish Audient would've taken more care when building this interface.

The warranty has expired and I was referenced to ship it for repairs on the other side of the country, at my own expense. This would run me the cost of at least a half new ID22, with no guarantee that it will last. The uncertainty and lack of assurance from their support will lead me to look for a new interface. Shame.

Easy to use - Excellent sound

We bought it as a band. Recording demos and professional stuff with it. Delivers greatly. Never had a problem, years now.

Excellent!

I upgraded Focusrite Scarlett with iD22 and was surprised to hear the difference in DA conversion! It sounds great and it is very sturdy, but less heavy than I expected.

The only negative (and it's a small one) is that dim, cut and f buttons sometimes don't register the click when pushing them too gently.

I thought I'd miss the midi I/O, but I just use the midi via USB.

I'm actually thinking about also buying the smaller iD4 for live performances.

Amazing Interface

I've been using this interface for 6 months now and I have never had a problem with it. This product has been the main audio interface in my home studio. Recording great sounding Bass, Guitars, synths, and vocals by themselves has never been easier. The setup is quick, the sound is amazing, and there is 0 latency.

Pros

Easy to set up

Easy to use

D.I. input sounds amazing

Knobs and buttons feel great

Most cost-efficient audio interface for home studios in the market

Has multiple outputs for multiple headphone mixes.

Cons

There is no on/off button, which is kind of annoying because you need to unplug it to turn it off.

This is the best sounding audio interface. And with this price point, I can see no other option.

good sound card

Good sound card for this price, Defects have not yet revealed but if anything is discovered, I will supplement the recall

Great Sound with very useful features

Excellent AD/DA, connected to my KH120 and SC203 the sound has more depth and definition that with my previous Focusrite 2i2. The monitor controller features are a great add on if you with to A/B you mixes on multiple speakers with trims to match volumes across both systems. Headphone powerful enought to drive my BT880 250omh with power to spare.

Worth the money

The Pre amps on the Audio interface are almost dead quiet, perfect for those who want to push their mics.

Sad it doesnt have an on and off switch tho, You need a powerstrip or to remove it from the plug manually,

Still haven't heard anything better...

...and I've used it extensively for production and recording during last year. Compared to this interface, a lot of recordings made through other soundcards simply sound mushy, like they lack highs and they are warbled and colder. It's nuances, really... But then again, this whole game is about nuances.
