Audio Technica for field recording and super 8/16mm filming

This microphone it is perfect for field recording, and best accompanied my super 8 mm and super 16 mm film camera production. Also it is very capable for voice over narrating recording in studio and field. It gives me the quality and magnetize of sonic elements that with very good separation between sound in outdoor environments.

Does what it says on the tin..

Nice mic.. Needs a treated room to work well though when using indoors but that comes with the territory of the typ of mic this is.

Great mic!

This mic is really quite good and when you consider that it is very affordable it's awesome!

Great directional condenser with a bright response as you would expect.

My only fault with it is that the mesh on the sides is easy to damage.

Almost perfect short shotgun

Used for run and gun interviews

The good:

light, sturdy, low profile, very good sound

The bad

phantom power only- make sure you carry spares for your recorder

Sound rejection is not as good as it's bigger siblings, that being said it is what it is, a vast improvement over in-built mikes and can be hand-held with care for great talking head interviews. I recommend a pistol grip for hand holding though, and buy a dead-cat for wind protection

Great value for the price!

This is a really great value for the price if someone needs a shotgun mic or not. Works well for me when recording or Skyping. It is small enough to travel with if needed outside the home studio. Surprisingly good sound for the price.
