Rode SM4-R

Used for mounting some small diaphragm condenser microphones in the studio e.g. Shure SM81, AKG C451 etc, for anti-vibration reasons. For mics of that diameter and similar dimensions it fits perfectly. Elastic "rings" hold very tight the mics while cable clip in the back of the mount's base ensure that the position of the microphone would not changed by accidental pulling of the cables. Although it isn't the cheapest solution out there it looks almost identical for this kind of use. The results are very satisfying while the built quality and the quality of materials are of high grade. User can customise the position of elastic "rings" by place them in different points so they could fit perfectly for a certain mic. The package comes with allen screws to fasten the...
Rode SM6

When you are recording at a desk, it is vitally important that you stabilise the mike you are using so that any vibrations from keyboard, mouse etc don't shake the mike and send random sounds/bumps/rumbles etc down into your recording. The best way to stabilise a mike is using a shock mount, or, as it should better be called "an anti shock mount!" I purchased this particular accessory to use with the RODE PROCASTER ... it fits well, removes all vibration I could throw at it, and generally performs as it was designed. I purchased this particular model as it had an attached pop filter, something I needed. However, it transpires that the ProCaster is longer than other Rode mikes, and therefore the inbuilt pop-filter wont actually reach where its needed and is thus quite useless...

For some reason the MK220 (and I assume some of other mics) don't come with a proper shockmount. So you have to go buy this one. Now that said, it's the best shock mount I own. It's very sturdy and has never had that issue of the rubber bands popping out like the other ones I have. It also has excellent rumble rejection, or I've certainly never had issues with it paired with my MK220 (which I frequently use in live recording and drum recording setups). I just wish they'd let you buy the 2 at once. Whose gonna use an LDC without a shock mount anyway?
Rode SMR

I have purchased Rode SMR, since I accidentally broke the plastic link on the bottom of my Rode nt USB by dropping them :( The reason I chose this product over other shock mounts is that this shock mount comes with a metal pop filter. Rode nt USB has a metal pop filter as it's component, which does its job perfectly and looks cool. Also, it is washable, meaning that you don't really need to spend on purchasing new pop filters because of the smell or unsanitary condition. Thus, I thought that this product would be reliable. I have been using it for about two months. So far, I am quite satisfied with this shock mount and the pop filter it comes with. The shock mount does its job perfectly. The quality of the elastic bands is excellent. The pop filter included in the bundle is double...
EV 309A RE-Series

In all honesty, I don't think a simple shockmount should cost this much, but I feel like you definitely get what you pay for! The result is a high quality shockmount that holds my new RE20 very well, and that doesn't get in the way of alternate monitors beside me due to it's 'arch' design. Overall I'm very happy with the shockmount, and I couldn't recommend anything else for holding your new RE mic. Only downside I can think of is that it's top screw easily loosens when rotating the mic in a clockwise direction due to it's overall weight, but you'll get that with almost every mount, regardless of design.
the t.bone SSM 5

I purhcased the t.bone SSM 5 microphone shock mount in order to use it with my previously bought the t.bone EM 9900 microphone. The microphone arrived with it's stock mic holder which you will find is unusable with boom poles as I am using it with the Rode Mini Boompole. So I had to purchase a shock mount holder to eliminate all the unneeded noises and bumps from the pole. After a quick research on the website I found this one and decided to try it out. It turned out to be a steal! Let's face it - the price is great on this piece. What I love about it is it's ability to accomodate microphones anywhere from 19-20mm up to 30mm which is quite the range if you ask me. I also liked the build quality as all parts of it feel good. The ring is built of metal, the mount feels solid and of...
the t.bone SSM 6

Comming from similarly priced chinese shock mount, this thing does amazing! Not only does it help with bump pickups when touching the stand, but it also seemed to isolate the bumps comming from the desk that my arm is mounted on. The screw is wide enough and clamps easily, and the mechanism seems not to require lots of tension to keep in one place. Build quality: The outer ring is made out of metal that does not resonate with bumps and the outer rubber bands are thick and are covered in isolation (think: heavy duty hair bands). The inner ring is hard(ish) plastic and the bands that actually hold the microphone are naked thinner soft "wet-ish" rubber. The connector is made from thick plastic and the screw hole is made via copper insert. Everything seems to be made to last, but...
the t.bone SSM 2

Great value shockmount that should work with most LDC mic's. Maybe a little tight compared to others I have of the same design but they still do the trick, once the mic's in there you're safe in the knowledge that it won't be coming out anytime soon, and the elastic shockmount will reduce any noise from thumping feet etc around the mic stand. I'm actually using these with my Sennheiser MD421's as I can't stand the terrible plastic arms they come with. Get one of these shockmount's around the body of the mic and it's more secure and gives shock absorption!
Roadworx MSM 2000

Currently using with an Aston Stealth, all fits and secures well, not had any issues with the microphone slipping out. Attaches to the stand smoothly and firm. All the adjustment screws feel decent quality and not going to slip or just fail randomly. Not using the pop shield that comes with, but nice that it's an option if I decide to use a side address microphone in future, seems solid enough. Does the job it says it's going to do, not had any issues at all, could spend a lot more for worse.
SE Electronics Isolation Pack

Finally! A good isolation pack designed for my SE Mic! Very well built and thought out. The attachment for the mic stand can be adjusted in 'notches', so once you lock it it does not move! For real! I found myself using it with my top mic, an AKG 414, as it locks better than the one which came with it. Only problem is that the pop filter only attaches to the front, so of you have to , for any reason, turn the microphone by 90 degrees inside the shock mount, the pop filter becomes unusable. However, I really like it and for the price, you can't go wrong. Highly recommended
