A must-get -mic for kick drum!

This mic is a mind blower. It boosts the perfect frequencies of your kick drum, giving you a rich, cutting, modern kick drum sound.

The best ever bass drum mic.

I have two of these now, and remain impressed. It's virtually impossible to get a poor kick drum sound using a D6 when placed as per the instructions. It has just the right amount of built-in eq that I usually end up having the desk channel set flat. Simply sounds great right out of the box.

I've used several other bass drum mics in the past including Sennheisers and AKG and this is by far the most consistent and best sounding.

The Rock/Metal weapon

I got this mic because I heard that the german band Rammstein used it live and I like their sound so I thought that I have to get one of these.

When I got it and unpacked it I placed it in the hole in my bass drum head, wired it and startet to play.

This day changed my live. I never heard a better sounding mic for a rock/metal bass drum. There was no need to eq the mic. The D6 has automaticly a little more gain at 80Hz and at 3500Hz, which is nice for rock/metal. The sound is equal to a combination of an e901 and a shure beta 52.

The price is also very nice compared to other microfones, a little bit higher but you know what you get.

And for the rock/metal bass drum it is the best.

Look now further!

Amazing sound from this kick drum mic, had checked a lot and this blew the rest out of the water. Robust and sturdy, comes with a clip and small padded bag. The bottom end sound from this mic will not disappoint

Audix D6

It is designed for bass drum and it sounds amazing on bass drum. Very nice and worm sound. it reproduces low end and high end at the same time if positioned correctly. It has great background noise reduction. I used it a few times on guitar cabs, but wasn't really convinced due to lack of mid frequency response, there are just many different mics for electric guitar recording anyway, so lets give it ''VERY GOOD'' for being a great kick drum recording microphone. I am loving it and I am well proud to have it in my microphones cupboard.
