BBE Sonic Maximizer 882i Reviews
Can't live without it!
I've been using the BBE Sonic Maximizer in my racks for about 10+ years, having recently upgraded from an older version of the 441 to the 882. Previously, I used it for a live DJ rig, and it was super useful in managing my bass levels in a club setting. Nowadays, I only use it in the studio, and I switched to the 882 for the improved noise reduction.
Overall, it's a great device that does one thing but does it really well, and gives the bass end a super smooth and polished sound. Build quality is also great.
Very Good BBE
Very good item, makes a nice sound quality difference to your sound on the low deep bass and the mid range and top frequencies. Overall very good product to have in your system. Can be used before or after your crossover unit in your system.
A necessary tool
Good unit to have in the studio rack.
A-B'd it with it's software version and the hardware unit came out on top.
Push it too much and it crushes the waveform but used sensibly & t adds that nice sublte drive to a stem or mix bus.
Would have been nice to have a stereo link switch on it
I love my BBE
This is a useful tool for every mix engineer.
Monster sound
I use the BBE in a rack together with a tube amp for a warm and full metal sound. I use both channels ( one for clean, the other for distortion ). When in bypass and then put on, the sound transforms from solid, to super heavy , fuller, warmer, crunchier. I started using BBE in rack when I saw Megadeth use it. It is a perfect secret product, that lifts the guitar sound a few levels higher. Fits into any 19" rack.
Another high-quality, easy-to-use Sonic Maximiser from BBE
24 years ago, I began using a BBE 362NR a stereo re-summing/Noise reduction unit (mainly to clean up old demos that had been recorded to compact cassette at standard speed, & twice the standard speed.
The 882i appears to be a step-up from my trusty 362NR in that the TSR/XLR connectivity and other sonic improvements mean that I will be using this unit to clear up acoustic, electric, vocal & synth patches, & also for mixdown as the bass response through studio monitors or headphones sounds exceptional.
I've also spotted a way to use this unit in helping to "correct" any extreme panning especially with stereo/effected synth pads or guitar multi-effects at the pre-production/tracking stage.
On the evidence of my last few days with the BBE Sonic Maximizer 882i, I doubt that I will leave it for longer than 24 months (let alone years) before my next BBE acquisition
A must have product
A must have product!
yes makes a difference good piece of kit
Sound Maximizer! Yess!
I use it in the studio for better mixing result. Tried it a few days ago. I had two samples; one is with BBE and the other one is without BBE. I must say the result is very perceptional. BBE brings air to the overall mix. Not only bass and treble improvement in the sound but it's more than this. There is a huge difference.
At this price range ( it was 500 USD two years ago ) there is no negative side. Buy it and hear the difference!
BBE SONIC MAXIMIZER 882I
This kind piece of equipment I have use in live performance about 10 years or maybe more.
Of Course is a different kind of models, but i still have in my rack space.
Not so long ago I order BBE SONIC MAXIMIZER 882I for my home studio.
And believe me, once again I discover that BBE doing amazing things with my sound.
I can explain like this
1. From very poor sound in the high frequency, I got rich and more present.
2. From dark sound in the lower frequency I got very good and punch bass.
I guess that every body can hear that the high and low frequency is changing. But there is something else, I wan to so say.
TRY TO PLAY IN LIVE PERFORMANCE ALL NIGHT WITH, BBE.
AND THEN PLAY THE LAST SONG WITHOUT, BBE.
Then you will understand what BBE doing with the sound.
