Behringer B205D Reviews
If space is limited
I bought this after seeing it used by another band. The monitor may be little but loud! It sits on a mic stand using a cross shaped adaptor (included). if you use a boom mic stand there is an adaptor that fits in the top of the unit to enable this ,also included. Due to its design it is very easy to place for your needs, mine sits just behind my hi-hats.
Unlike some wedge monitors you can adjust not only the volume but also the treble, middle and bass. If you're a drummer who plays with a click, you can feed this into a separate channel on the unit.
Since I've had mine, other members of the bands I play in have also purchased them. You can't get a better recommendation than that.
Underated maybe but probably underheard...!
Great little monitor - the difference this little animal makes to localized feedback has to be heard to be appreciated..! The fact that you can 'daisy chain' to an extent is also fantastic... i honestly think that Behringer is probably the most underrated equipment out there at the moment but I think that is changing...
Cool & Compact
Great piece of equipment, would recommend highly for formulating musical ideas with others before hitting the stage or studio...
No other monitor comes near!
This monitor fits on a microphone stand so you can set it up with your mic on top and you have a compact unit on stage. It is perfect for drummers who sing (which I am not) and guitarists. The proximity of the unit to the performer means you will always hear it. The choice of input and prensence of tone controls means you can take your signal from anywhere and have it as loud as you want, using the tone controls to avoid feedback. The power is amazing for such a small speaker! This is the best monitor I've ever used for indoor gigs.
Great monitor
I use a pair of these with my rock covers band. Mounted on mic stands, they are brilliant.
The sounds quality is not amazing but hearing yourself is not a problem. Just keep them close to head height and near to you as possible. Also the 3 band EQ is very useful. Can even be used a small PA if need be as has 3 inputs.
Recommended!
monitor for all your needs
Love that I can put this monitor on a stand when playing I can hear everything clearly. My band mate can run his monitor off the signal from my Monitor. I don't leave home without it. Only con the volume knob when turned up half way or over can turn up on its own from the vibration on stage.
Great little Monitor
Had this for a few years, and I gig about every two or three weeks, and this always comes along. Perfect for getting a monitor for vocals and instruments, with the unit sitting on top of a 1m or so high mic stand, the sound just comes to me, and doesn't attempt to flood the stage. Has proven robust in that time, and I have recommended it to a number of musician friends who have also bought one. It is loud enough for the bands I play in (from 4 piece rock to acoustic guitars/folk)
Top Class
This monitor is the best piece of equipment I've ever purchased. I can't fault it for the situation in which I play. I play keys in a busy 5 piece function band. I have this mounted on a mic stand facing me directly from just above my top keyboard. The sound quality is fantastic, the portability is great and the volume is perfect even in a 5 piece band. I was using a 600watt monitor on the floor next to me until I got this. I'd never go back to that set up.
I also use it as an amp for small jazz trio gigs, again mounted on a mic stand. I play electric violin and keys through it in this context. It makes for a great violin amplifier too. It's incredibly versatile and portable, with great sound quality. I would highly recommend this product.
Behringer B205D Monitor
bought this as a basic stage monitor and it works really well.
It is solid & stable when on a stand it has power to spare even in really large venues.
I was so impressed that I also bought the Behringer B207MP3 with added channel & USB slot & i'm delighted with them both.
I wish they came with or you could buy a custom made case for them but that is my only negative the units themselves are excellent.
Gorgeous Sound
This Behringer B205D is great. I use it at home for practicing sometimes when I'm lazy. I just put my electric guitar and my micraphone straight into it and away I go. It is small, light and compact.
I love Behringer products, I have been buying them for years. I have always found them to be of a very high quality. I expect the same standards from this little monitor.
It is great because it can be placed on your mic stand, which takes it off the floor and gives you more options for directing the sound. It is quite loud. I can use it as a personal monitor in pub situations. I have also used it as a mini PA system in a cafe setting. I play guitar and sing through the monitor and have congas and a double bass (through an amp) playing with me. I had the monitor placed behind me, so I could hear the output. It was loud enough to fill quite a large echoey room with very high ceilings. The guitar sounded sweet and clear but my vocals were the nicest I have ever heard them! It was so lovely to do a gig where I could hear everything clearly.
I am delighted with this monitor!
gigged for a few years and still going strong
Ok Behringer you think low price but that doesn't mean low quality. I bought this to use as a vocal monitor for when I'm drumming. I loved the fact it was way more portable and compact than a proper monitor. I run my mic straight into it then run a line to the front of house - works brilliantly
I've been gigging this for a few years and still in perfect working order. It's got plenty of power as long as you don't push too much bass through it. I even use it as a little practice bass amp at home - again not too loud as its only a fairly small speaker but this thing is great.
Could be used for so many applications and for what I needed it's been perfect.
Handy as a couple of teenagers at a school dance!
This unit is fantastic! Sounds great, easy to use, lots of connection options, 150 watts of power, just perfect for a quick need for extra sound reinforcement. Two missing feature that I'd gladly pay more for are a simple reverb effect and a longer power cable. Otherwise, seriously, it's brilliant!
Great little PA.
Great so far. Comparable to the Mackie product but cheaper. I hope it lasts longer than the 10 months I got from the Mackie!
Great little thing
Love it! Easy to carry around and great sound
Behringer B205D
The Behringer B205D is a good foldback monitor. I was a bit unsure about buying it as i normally use floor wedges for the bands i work with. However I needed something small and raised of the floor for a 22 piece Jazz band I am currently working with. The sound quality is Good and it is easy to work with. I have given the quality an okay star rating as one of mine had a fault on its second outing and is currently being repaired under warranty and i am not sure whether it is just a one off fault or something that may happen with my other monitors. Overall i think it is a decent monitor.
Useful unit - works for me..
Originally bought this as a vocal monitor for rehearsals. Had some use there.. Mainly use this as a home speaker for my pod hd. Perfect for this. Gives great sound for guitar and bass patches. Can leave dt25 at rehearsal space..
Also bought cable for cd input so that can play music / radio off iPod or phone.
Think there could be a Bluetooth version available now which would be good..
Extremely useful B205D monitors
I now had 2 of these, they really are excellent! They have been used as gig monitors, and also as small PA speakers for an outdoor gig! A very versatile little unit.
Behringer B205D
A compact and robust unit that outputs plenty of volume. I use it for fold back and as long as it is positioned with care relative to the user, will give you a good reference to the sound you are making out front. Weight of sound not like using a larger wedge monitor but that is to be expected.
Good for its price
I use this mounted on my mic stand ( I sing lead vocals) in parallel with a floor monitor. Works fine - as the lower frequencies are handle by the much larger floor unit. Having only the B205D might be a little weak. And don't even consider using it further away than 1.5 m from you
Good little monitor
The B205D was bought because we needed a quick replacement for a similar looking monitor which had died on a gig. We were all pleasantly surprised at the quality of sound and the very solid build of the unit. For the price it is most definitely worth it.
Any subtle differences between the 2 units are lost when you are standing next the drummer in a sweaty club and all you want is to hear yourself. Would I buy again, yes. Would I recommend, yes no problem.
