Cheap and powerfull

Great for the money - ideal for beginners like me.

Good after EQ

It needs some EQ before it sounds good but works well when you do

"Okay" mic

I noticed that high-mid and high frequencies is REALLY harsh on this mic.

This mic is great for voiceover recordings or something like radio-type work.

For me it sounds too sharp for using it for vocal recordings

really value for money

i have 2 of those in my home studio and they sound pretty good for their money, if you re on a low budget i strongly recommend this mic,

they listen to EQ and take nice dynamics but on the high freq is a bit harsh and a bit noisy but i don't think for this money you can get a better one, sounds good on voice, singing and acoustic guitars also can be a good alt for recording drums as overheads if you have 2.

Low quality shockmount

The shockmount came already broken. The screw was poorly made and the mechanism that sticks the spider to the stand was loose making it impossible to fix the mic in the angle you want.

Awesome microphone - you can pick up everything

I bought Behringer B1 because there was no time to borrow a microphone and I was in a hurry since I had to finish album recording. So according to the positive reviews and recommendations from friends, I decided to give it a go (with no expectations, just with hopes that everything would go well, and it did).

It's unbelievable how good this microphone is. I didn't expect that something that cheap can work that well. Of course you need to tweak it up a little bit so you get the colour you want but overall, it's awesome for the price. And not only for the price. It's awesome overall, maybe (in some cases) even brighter than Neumann's U87. It also picks up quiet breathing and other quiet actions in the room.

I recorded vocals, acoustic guitars and electric guitars with it. Everything went super. For example - this microphone picks up the most beautiful clean sound on Fender amps I've ever recorded! When it comes to distortion is fine, but I didn't tweak around with it, so I didn't get exactly what I wanted and this is the reason why I am staying with SM57 for OD guitars.

You will need 48V phantom power to run it and pop up filter is also useful (well pop-up filter is always a must have in the vocal microphone kit). And it also comes in a nice case, so you don't worry about carrying microphones in those bags and expecting that something will break.

Overall, I would say that this product deserves 5/5 because it's great for low-budget studios and if you're looking for some specific sound it may be also used in the professional ones. It's just about personal preference.

You could pick up a pin dropping!

This microphone is awesome, we purchased it for doing some recording of the band rehearsals, set it up, attached it to the audiophile and computer and wow, I cant believe how much this mic picks up, I reckon if a butterfly flew past it would pick up the sound of its wings beating, astonishing piece of kit at a great price.

We set it up in the corner of the room and it picks up everything.

Comes with a great little case too so you can store it without the worry of it becoming damaged.

We have not used this to record just vocals on yet but from the little bits we have recorded are really quite promising. Not the most expensive mic out there by a mile but surprising results for the price.

Good build quality and although not having picked up or used a similar type of mic it does seem quite heavy.

Love it!

Really Awesome Condenser Microphone! It's the second Behringer B1 I have bought! I just love it! For the price and the quality, there's no way I would give this less than 5 stars!

Great microphone for the price

I was very impressed about the build quality (and sturdiness) when i received this microphone. Feels very solid and the soundquality is good.

The switchable low-frequency roll-off and -10 dB input attenuation are a welcome addition to make this microphone even more versatile.

Feels and sounds like microphones that cost twice as much.

Comes with a handy carrying case jor 'jobs on the go'

good mic

Have only used this once so far, but, it sounds like a mic at least twice the price, similar to an AKG condensor, but maybe a little bit less prescence, quite a flat freq response.

Great value for money

The Behringer B1 does a great job for recording of any vocals. I have also used it to record acoustic guitar, which also works great. As a bonus, it comes with a damped mount and a foam wind shield in a sturdy case.

Behringer B1 in practical terms

The Behringer B1 Mic. is reasonable value for the price and for serious recording, it would be better to consider a higher end unit. It has a very thin sound quality, and is a “too airy high end Mic”, ideal for quickie recordings and to travel with because it's fairly cheap, well built and has a strong case. It does a nicer job on the guitar than on vocals but it certainly does okay on those too, certainly nothing that cant be dealt with by the EQ. during mix, or with an front processor. With the processing equipment around today you can probably make a wet noodle sound good. Useful for recording a demo or something like that, but it’s a bit too bright and lacks depth, more suited to Home Studio not for professional use, but does do well with instruments!
