Behringer B-1 Reviews
Travel MIC
I use this microphone for narration on shows, and occasionally for recording singing. It works nicely for the price. I carry it with me on travels all the time, and it's very durable. The sound quality is average; I always need to adjust it with equalizers. If you compare the money invested and the quality, this is a top-notch combination.
Very nice sound
For beginners sound engineering is perfect! Very easy to use. Of course, is not a professional, haven't expected a better performance on such a low budget.
I recorded some covers. Works perfect for violin as well. Warm sound.
Amazing
The Behringer B-1 is my go to mic because it is so versatile.
It has a flat eq which makes EQ'ing incredibly easy!#
the case it comes with is a great bonus!
Take and use
If you are a professional I think you don't need this review) But if you are a beginner I can recommend this to you. Great microphone for the money. Nice sound without noise. Suitable for both voice and vocal recording. Quality made. Microphone for 5 balls, accessories for 4. The kit includes a case, a spider and a windscreen. The microphone is a condenser, remember that you will need a phantom power supply.
Good for first condenser mic
It was my first condenser mic and considering the price point I'd say it was an excellent buy for the money.
Recommend it.
Wonderful mic . Best sound for this price !
Definitely recommend it
If you are planning to work on a bedroom studio, it is just perfect for it.
Not the best on the market but it is the best for the price.
Great buy for beginners!
I really wanted to start recording some singing and acoustic guitar tracks at home, mostly as practice so I can slowly build up my skills.
I was on a tight budget, plus I'm a beginner so I didn't want to spent a fortune. After consulting a friend, I bought the B-1.
It does its job perfectly. The sound is good and most of all my wallet didn't suffer.
Just having it on its stand next to the next helps motive me to practice more!
If you're on a budget and this is your first mic purchase, go for the B-1!
Decent sound quality, although frequency response a little strange. For the price its a pretty good option although if you can I would stretch to the rode entry level stuff, an sm 58 or even a shure 58 beta would probably do a better job in most circumstances. Mine broke after a couple of drops in the recording studio.
Good quality
Great microphone that is worth buying.

For the money I gave, it is a very good microphone for recording voice and instruments. Really worth the money!
Behringer B-1
Excellent Micrphone! I was very surprised with the built quality and audio recording. Very happy! Totally recommended
Amazing quality for the price
I am a radio presenter working from home. I needed an affordable microphone to improve my quality,
I ordered this microphone for 71 pounds and when it arrived was extremely impressed. It sounds very clear and is very versatile. It has a full and rich tone
It has a good build and comes in a carrying case with space for the shock mount, surpsingly high quality foam windshield and the microphone itself. The shock mount is the perfect size meaning it can be mounted upside down with no issues.
The only con is that the switches on the front of the microphone are covered by the windshield, maybe they should be moved up in future revisions.
I would recommend this product for those with a lower budget but high expectations!
Looks good and is functional
Microphones are funny these days as there aren't too many really bad ones and in fact the bad ones are maybe the effect your after? The advantage of these cheap large diaphragm mike is it looks good when people first see your home studio. To tell you the truth the few times I've used it I was happy with the sound reproduction.
A good, clear and accurate mic but needs a touch of warmth
I replaced a mic that came as a bundle with a Focusrite Solo package with this B1 so I have direct comparison.
To me Behringer kit has a quite clinical sound - like it doesn't flavour the sound and this mic is exactly like that. The previous mic had a warmer sound, but actually, i prefer to have it as it is, you can do more with a pure sound. What i have found tho (this is for podcasting) is you need to add a touch of warmth in the mid lows and the upper mid highs to get that intimate close voice sound. But now i've sorted that, its perfect!
The bass roll of is really useful, and, it comes with a mic mount and 'over mic' pop shield which i love! When podcasting you spend a lot of time with your mic and the separate screen type popshileds really annoy me as they obscure some vision and i find it hard to gauge where i am from the actual mic hidden behind. It also filters pops really well, i think better than the the separate shield i was using before.
Overall, for its price range it's a very good, clear and practical mic for podcasting, having a case for it included is icing on the cake!
Amazing!
With this price, I'm really enjoying the professional feel. The sound is very crispy and clear. It is doing a pretty good job.
best home studio condenser microphone
The best condenser microphone ever!! for home professional studios!! I definitely recommend it!! And alsothe best price!!
Behringer B-1 Works a treat
This mike works a treat, and it’s cheap. It comes in a nice carry case, well protected with a spider mount and a wind sock included, which is a nice bonus for such a ‘cheap’ mike. I’ve used it in my small home studio connected via a Focusrite solo, for vocals and acoustic guitar (picked and strummed) and its very good, both guitar and vocals were clear with no distinguishable balance issues getting a fairly flat response. I like this as i can add colour through FX when editing. You will need a 48 volt phantom power supply to run this mike.
Unless i was in a professional studio competing against other professionals, which I’m not, i would have to consider paying for premium gear to attract customers. However those of us in small studios will need good reliable mikes at a reasonable price that doesn’t cost the same as one that’s been manufactured at midnight by elves on the third quarter of a full moon whilst there’s a soft breeze from the west and covered in pixie dust, then you would be pushed to find better than the B-1
Excelent product for the price
It gives nice and bright sound. Very good on vocals and acoustic guitar, although it can sometimes be harsh on vocals if the performer has particularly bright voice.
A great entry-level microphone for home studios
The Behringer B-1 is a well-informed choice for any beginner or studio musician.
As its capabilities lie mostly in the treble and high midranges, it is a useful tool for recording vocals and picked acoustic guitar. While it lacks the body needed to record heavier sounds like electric guitar and strummed acoustic guitar, it is a great choice for any beginner or for any home studio musician.
The microphone's construction is very solid thanks to its all-metal chassis, and it has nice features including a high-end roll off switch and a minus 10db switch.
Overall, it is well constructed, effective, and easy to use.
