One of my favourite synths of all time.

I have the keyboard version, but since I use it all the time for gigs and touring, I decided to get this module version which is always connected in my studio. Super flexible, sounds amazing, I have already convinced many of my friends to get one as well. It's possible to get into Juno territory if you limit the FX and modulation usage, but it goes so much further than a simple Juno. Behringer's first synth is without a doubt Behringer's best synth.

Stunning

I absolutely love the Deepmind 12! It has such rich, warm sounds and is just an amazing machine, which I am still discovering..

modern classic

This synth is killer, the fx are top quality, well build, lots of options to create your own sounds and lot of space for your patches. This hardware shines when you create your own, from classic 70s to present.

A superb first synthesizer

As far as I'm concerned Behringer's first original synth (with obvious inspiration) hits it out of the park. Time just seems to melt away when I'm making sounds on it. The basic voice isn't anything special, but having 12 voices at this price point is unheard of and gives you that analog cream in spades because of the unison options. Flexible and great sounding effects, with many different algoritms including feedback, tons of modulation and a great build quality: it's a steal at this price.

Deep Love!

I was very sceptic at first buying this synth, although there were quite a few reviews praising it. The reason was the oscillator waveform choices, with only one sawtooth oscillator and no sinewave. However I had a change of heart, since on one hand I loved the sound of Juno 106 (from which this synth took inspiration), and on the other hand I saw a reviewer who mentioned that the effects were a crucial part in the sound design capabilities of the DM. So I went ahead and bought the 12D version.

I have to say that I'm SO IN LOVE with it. Indeed: the effects plus the mod matrix are crucial features for its sound design capabilities. I would strongly advice to go for 12 voices, so that you can use 2-3 of them in unison for each note without significant polyphony loss (6 and 4 voices respectively). The filters sound great without being extraordinary, and the envelopes are quite steep and snappy.

On the downside, my main concern is the data entry knob which is plastic and a bit fiddly. Also the companion application does not work well with touch on windows and no android version is available.

Nevertheless this is definitely a keeper :)

Excellent quality and sounds amazing

Add a DeepMind 12D to a DeepMind 12 via poly-chain to get yourself a DeepMind 24.

Unison, now with 48 oscillators.

Box of wonder

Fabulous synth in so many ways, endless possibilities, especially if you want something to physically interact with ,maybe a little to much menu diving at times, but that’s because it’s very deep in its capabilities.

If I had a negative issue, it would be it’s a pity it doesn’t have a audio in ,especially with its effects on board, which are great.

Being 12 voices, gives it ridicules power ,it’s all you really need with regards to an analog synth. But of course you will find reasons to get more.

A really great synth for a great price!

I'm really happy with my DeepMind 12. It's a great synth with a lot of possibilities to make a sound you want. I mostly use it for bass, pads, then sampling to my DAW

Pros:

A great FX section

Auto oscillator tuning, which helps a lot, comparing with other analog synths.

The almost endless modulation possibilities, which I like the most.

Cons:

The filter resonance keyboard tracking may lead to voices sounding out of tune. Some voices may sound differently when just switched on, but then it comes to normal when warmed up. It's a minor inconvenience for me, though.

Best modular synth ever

This synthesizer is in my opinion the best buy for money, the best modular synth, if you go deep you can easily make any sound. Highly recommend.

Great sounds -endless noodling

My first hardware synth, I wanted a polysynth and although I was sceptical about the amount of menu diving, it just adds loads more to the tweakability of the available sounds. The iPad app and computer app are very good and just add to the useability. Altogether a great synth and fabulous price for so much.

Definite depth

A lot of onboard presets, but it's definitly build to build your own. The effects are very effective, I do prefer to ad a subtle amount so it won't lose the feel of the analog.

It has a tender, gentle vibe, which lends itself very well to build dreamy pads and such. It's very cheap, and almost entirely in a good way. The controller knobs feel a bit, well, cheap... And it lacks someting to keep dust from getting in through the slider gaps. But maybe they're better left open because of the fan, sucking in air (blowing it out). The fan has not bin an issue for me at all though, but it is noticable when you don't play it, on standard setting.

I bought it, and I kept it, so I think it's safe to say that I would recommend the Deepmind, when a subtractive polysynth with a lot of depth is what you are looking for, when you're on a budget.

Analog power.

So much power, and fat analog sound.

Volume pot is one of main controls, from preset to preset, there is always some difference in volume.

You can turn of cooling fan, unit is quite cold.

Deepmind Deep Sounds

As I'm not a proficient player, and having limited space in my studio the announcement Deepmind Desktop made the possibility of owning a Deepmind 12 a possibility and now, after 10 months since seeing it launched in Leeds UK, it is a reality.

the build quality is excellent and it's metal construction feels solid and high quality. The sounds this thing can make are truly breathtaking... honestly none of my other 32 synths come close.

For this price and feature set, this is hands down the best value synth out there.
