Behringer DI20 Reviews
Best Budget D.I
Cant get much better, The best value D.I!
Incredibly noisy
There is a super annoying white noise. I bought three of these and all of them have the same problem no matter the settings. Absolutely terrible product. Stay away
Excellent Vaue for Money
Does what it says on the box. If you're looking for a compact multi-function active DI box, this is it. I lopped off one star due to the light metal construction but so long as you don't plan on jumping up and down on it or dropping 4X12's on it, this will last you forever.
I've using this DI on phantom power exclusively and I have no complaints whatsoever! For the price this little gem packs a lot of useful features, you really can't go wrong with this one.
Perfect little tool
Bought this one as my first DI-box and so far have been delighted by ease of use and good sound quality.
Behringer DI20
It is good to have one of them as a quick and cheap solutions. Don't expect the best sound but it is fair enough. Great cheap solutions especially for stereo out like keys.
Reliable and not expensive
This small DI Box do a really serious work in all stage I do, nothing to blame about it!!!!!
Super!
This is product is something wonderfull for my sint.
Great little box. Great value.
I have a desk full of Behringer products. I always like them and always will. Great value for those on a tight budget. They are solid and reliable. This is no exception.
I use it for home recording as a direct box into my preamp which goes into my interface or via USB from the preamp into my computer. No noise issues. Good clean sound.
I put some rubber pads on the underside to stop the cables pulling it around on the table, but the box is no so light I don’t think it would move around much without. On the floor it stays put nicely wth the pads. I am sure I will find further uses for this box too.
Pros: The DI with splitter is a good ideaI and it works fine. Its solid and great value for money.
Cons: None that I have found.
I like!!
Very good very nice
nothing bad to say about it.
Does the job, its cheap, easy to use and doesn`t take too much space :)
Price Performance
It is my 3rd ordered Behringer DI20. I am using it to run a digital piano to a mixer on stages and to USB audio interface at home for practice. Other two I am using with bass guitar and guitar on stages connected directly to the mixer. I power them with phantom and I never tried with battery. I never get any noise and the sound of direct connected instruments to the mixer is just great on the stages.
For this price range the quality is very acceptable. Maybe it is not useful for recording but for practice and on stages it is great.
cheap as chips, but this will not see you into your twilight years. but i got good service out of it for the price.
Many Features at this price range
I currently use it to run a digital piano to a mixer. Have clean sound coming though to the mixer.
I like the fact that I could use it in many other applications as well due to the flexibility in channel setups.
In term of quality, it feel a bit light, but its very acceptable at this price range
ok quality
well,,it works,,but,,that noise,,cracling sound simetimes,,i cant recomend it for studio use but for live as a backup di i can,,biggest problem is pad switch when i set -20 db noise is at same level but sound is quieter..with some modification it could be fixed..it fixes hum noise but something inside make whole new noise, like white noise poor components perhaps
Handy to have in your toolbox, beware of distortion
I carry one around in my gig bag since it is small and versatile.
There is one attenuation knob which acts on both inputs, so I primarily use it for stereo sources such as keyboards, tablets, laptops and DJ booth.
I have had mixed results with guitar/bass, the unit distorts to easy in my opinion, forcing you to pad the input even though the signal is not that hot.
It is not as well build as the DI100 (which you can throw from the top of a building and it will still work) and you should keep it away from mains transformers.
For the price, the size and the features it is a good unit.
Very versatile and built like a tank
Very well built, sounds great taking my pedalboard into the PA of even the biggest venues.
It functions as both an active DI box, and a splitter, and both sides of the product do exactly as they should.
Unpopular opinion - Behringer Rocks!
Possibly one of the best price-for-value audio product on this whole website and in general. I love this DI box and all the additional functions like 2CH and link mode, it's extremely versatile, and it does the job more than good. You can hear a big difference in sound when recording or monitoring a bass or electric guitar through your interface if you insert this DI box before your Line in and for this money you shouldn't hesitate. If you're an audio engineer, even if you have more expensive DI boxes, this can make a great emergency replacement as it's unlikely you'll have any problems. I've used this DI box for home recordings, in the studio and live concerts on big festival stages - it's trustworthy and road tested.
I have two of them so far.
Generally speaking, Behringer is capable of creating great devices, and just because they are not always as expensive as expected it doesn't mean that they are bad. If you look carefully you'll see their racks even in Abbey Road so, if you want a piece of advice, trust your ears rather than internet reviews!
So noisy
This DI box is so noisy that it isn't usable at all, the hiss is louder than the source you are using, and the features it has are completely useless due to this hiss.
Best DI for the buck!
These things are a must for any performer or engineers toolbox.
perfect for getting you out of a pinch, 2 channel summing, earth lift and a switch so the battery isn't dead when an acoustic guitarist needs to steal it.
If you have £120 to spend on a DI box then theres others on the market but this price nothing beats them.
Quite okay for it's price. Does everything it says and being able to run off of phantom power is a nice feature. Though, it has a very noticeable noise floor, which will be audible in quiet or dynamic setting.
