Behringer DI20 5-stars Reviews
cheap and cheerful
Does everything i need it to do! and well!
it have good sound, good buy for the price
great product!
dont need any expensive products its doing its job!
Simple, good helping tool.
Best DI box out there
These are everywhere you go, and with good reason too. They are the best thing you can buy out there if you have a permanent set up. They are durable and can be used if you move around as well. I bought 5 of these and they are most handy to have, especially if you need to split the signal for personal monitoring!
Compact DI Box
I needed a DI box for an acoustic set with two musicians using acoustic pick ups. This box fitted the bill perfectly and is very versatile. Just what I was looking for at a very affordable price. It is neat and inconspicuous, but functions perfectly.
Versatile, cheap but does its jobs well.
At this price get a few for your tool kit. You can either use this to take a stereo signal from a laptop (with 3.5mm to 2 mono jack cable), 2 mono channels such as 2 acoustic guitars, or use it in split mode to take a DI of an instrument and send it to the front of house and an onstage amp. I have never used these for any other purpose so can't comment on using fro larger signals.
They work perfectly, I always get a nice clean signal, and if the PC signal is too hot, I can add a 20db or 40db pad to lower the gain. Although I always start my gain path with the PC to ensure its not overcooking its output and distorting.
I have used these from small intimate settings of acoustic music, to medium sized pub gigs upto 500.
These can run off battery if needed, or phantom power from the desk. I always use phantom power as why add the expense of batteries? But I always have a battery on hand incase my phantom power fails.
You dont need to spend more money. This does the job pure and simple. You get a great clean strong signal and thats what matters at this stage.
They are also fairly light but metal construction so will take a beating. Been using the same one for 7 years now, Adding more to allow for more complicated set ups.
Just works really well.
Not really much to say about this one, It works really well and delivers.
Used many times now and works perfectly, I personally use quite a bit of Behringer kit as I have not yet won the lottery and find it does what it says on the box. This may be a cheap piece of kit but I am struggling to see how you would get any better results from paying twice the price?
Its not bomb proof but if you treat these things right I reckon they will last for a good few years, I keep mine attached in my pedal board case so it is well protected, but if you just throw your stuff in a bag they are cheap enough to replace.
Great for Stereo Applications
The Behringer DI20 is an excellent studio companion for connecting stereo instruments. It carries all the features of the Ultra DI in a smaller unit while coping with dual inputs and outputs. The ground lift is adequate and the attenuation (DB filters) work quite well. All in all a great DI and good value.
Great DI!
I use this for a variety of things; I mostly use it for using my iPad within my band. I connect it up with a stereo headphone jack to stereo 1/4 inch jack into the DI box, and XLR out using the link setting on the DI so it comes out in stereo on one channel.
Super handy!
Also, having phantom power on your mixer helps.
extremely useful
I bought some of these boxes just for DI purposes on the very rare occasion that I need DIs, but have found that they get used far more as splitters. Not the most interesting bit of studio gear but has saved me quite a few times!
So far so good
First of all, I don't know how long this little gadget will last, I've only had it for a few months.
But it's awesome so far.
Cheap, seems well built (though I don't play baseball with it), and really useful. Two separate channels or one stereo, with some extra features like splitting is very neat.
I tried recording with it through an M-Audio USB pro interface, and there isn't any hum- all the more awesome! If you're on a budget and in need of a few active DI boxes for concerts, recording or anything, this is the perfect solution.
Great quality for the price.
Behringer DI20
The "Swiss Army Knife" of accessories!
If your laptop BUZZES though your PA, you need one of these..
Connect it and use the ground lift. Hey, presto... no more BUZZZZZZZ
Conference uses are a must, you always get bad earth laptops there.
Decent DI for the money
I bought 2 of these DI's for radio outside broadcasts of live music events and studio recording applications and they've worked amazing for both.
The double DI is really useful for live settings where we need to attenuate a hot signal. I've generally used them between the feed from DJ's into our broadcast mixing desk.
I've also used these classically for live concerts and studio recordings, for directly inputting an electric, acoustic, bass guitar or keys into the desk. You can set the DI to act in 2 channel mode (so you get 2 DI's for the price. Although you can only set an attenuation that applies for both at the same time) or in single channel mode, where you get a 1/4" jack output which is perfect to go into an amplifier on stage for monitoring etc.
Even used these to connect a phone/mp3 directly into an active speaker when no mixer has been available!
They're phantom powered via a mixing desk. Or when phantom power is unavailable, 9v battery powered with an on/off switch. There's a red LED that illuminates when power is received, which is really helpful to check you have an initial connection to the desk in the event of issues during an event.
Overall, don't be put off by the low price. Really good product at a great price point. Can't recommend it enough!
Compact and Bijou
I don't think that you can get a DI box that's so compact, delivers so much yet costs so little! A 2-channel DI link or splitter, with adjustable attenuation and battery/phantom option for less than £16?! These things are great - I now have 3 of them! Simple to use, reliable, quiet & robust (mine are thrown into a leads case night after night and not even a hint of a problem).
The link/2-channel switches smoothly rather than making a 'click' when you change selection. This is fine, although it's possible that the switch can then move in transit - so check your settings when you hook the DI box up.
Overall - I can't fault it for the price
Must have product for every gig
We use this DI in our church to send stereo signal from the multimedia projector computer to the mixing board. previously we have been using just a very long stereo mini cable and countless adapters to connect the pc to the mixing board but with this we are able to use our existing XLR cables and Cordial CFY 6 WPP item #: 201113 cable to get a clean signal from our multimedia projector PC to the mixing board.
We are happy with the clean hiss and buzz free sound we get from it oppose to what we have been getting before. Having being able to run it with phantom power also an added bonus. we will be buying more of these to be used in the stage too.
Lovely lkittle box for the money
I bought two of these for our on stage work and because our lead guitarist had a problem with his pedal board. Having plugged it in it was a great relief to hear no noise. For the price they are fantastic. I bought a seond to use on stage when I have my acoustic guitar. Now I have the option of going into the PA or going into a guitar amp (fraufght with lots of feedback) using the attenuation option.
Great little box for the money and excellent value
Do not be put off by the behringer name - they make excellent products at very reasonable prices
D.I.
looks like a cheap product but has many features and all are at optimum levels. What is true is specified, a DI from multiple uses, the most useful LINK mode, a typical use in recording to keep a copy of the DRY TRACK. From tests carried out, the frequency response is linear, the source does not color at all, really recommended
does what is says on the tin!
this is a robust through it around piece of kit. It just works.
Small, easy to use.
It is really small and has 2 ch, it makes it really useful with keys for stereo or 2 mono.
Really good sound quality.
I use it in church and am satisfied with it. I recomend buy it, because it's simple, small, and has all what you need.
Also has option to use it phantom power, and i have on my mixer +48V, but i don't use because i use simple 9V battery.
I have other DI-boxes, but use this one for 2 keys.
Also price of it is really nice. In comparison with other DI-Boxes i prefer using this one and really love it. And am kinda proud that use it.
