Boom boom boom, bang for the buck

A classic sound, loud, techno, boom boom. I like it, easy to program, easy to use, expressive enough. OK, if you want variation you need to turn knobs, but the (meanwhile > €2000) original also has that as a strength. With this machine you get an original, with more control, and some FX, and full midi controllable triggers. Behringer did a good job on this one. One minor remark on the "keyboard style" programming knobs. They are rubber pad contact ones, and on my particular machine, the last four knobs have a slightly different feel. For the rest, I'm fully happy with the machine.

A GREAT DrumMachine but... it's not a TR-909!

The Behringer RD-9 is a fantastic drum machine that delivers on both performance and value. As a musician I was looking for a drum machine that could emulate classic drum sounds while also offering modern features. First off, the build quality is impressive. It feels sturdy and durable, perfect for both studio use and live performances. The layout is intuitive, making it easy to navigate and tweak sounds on the fly. Plus, the inclusion of MIDI connectivity adds versatility to my setup. Sound-wise, the RD-9 nails it. The analog circuitry delivers warm and punchy sounds reminiscent of classic drum machines, yet it also offers the flexibility to sculpt and shape your own unique sounds. The range of presets is impressive, covering everything from crisp hi-hats to booming kick drums. One of the standout features for me is the sequencer. It's incredibly powerful yet straightforward to use, allowing me to create complex rhythms with ease. I appreciate the ability to chain patterns together and create full-length tracks without any hassle. Overall, the Behringer RD-9 is a must-have for any musician or producer looking to add authentic drum sounds to their setup. With its combination of quality construction, versatile sound engine, and intuitive interface, it's become an essential part of my studio rig. Highly recommended! But it lacks the imperfections and feeling of the old Roland TR-909... RD-9 it's 'too' good and complete to be the acclaimed 909!

909 sound for cheap

I use this for most of my music and its really good. I have recorded many drum hits from this instrument and i keep using it again and again.

Just ok... Better use samples

Nice for those who are obsessed with 909 drum machine. Personally I think this machine to big and the sequencer is not even close to those in the market today. I understand it is a clone of a classic but a little originality will upgrade any classic insturment.

I got my sample pack in a Digitakt and its much better now.

Click sound

Closed and open Hihat randomly turns into a click sound. Problem disappears after rebooting the device

It works and I do not need to spend $5000 for the real thing

The sound is there if you tweek it a bit. I had 2 custom built TR-909 and acces to a real one. The diference is slight but the price of the RD-9 is unbeatable.

Amazing 4 the price

Quite similar to the original, not better at all, but considering the price is lit.

Finally!! the 909 is back!

This machine sounds amazing! the added features really bring out the sound to the next level! It came packaged very well and I had a groove immediately right out of the box thanks to the very intuitive and simple layout!

Amazing Inspiring DrumMachine 4me 4u

I never tried the real 909, i really don't know if this is or if its sound like the original , but i don't care, for me it's a very inspiring instrument, you can experiment a lot with with it... Thanks !

Wonderful machine

This really is a wonderful machine. Great functionality and gets those classic 909 sounds i to your hands.

The workflow seemed daunting at first, particularly all of the settings menu items but it really is very easy to use. Don't forget to enable autosave to avoid disappointment. Solid build quality and great style.

In the end I discovered I prefer the 808 sound, but believe me this machine is fantastic.

Excellent sound!

I never had a real 909 and was always working with samples. Thanks to Behringer I finally got my hands on the hardware version which seems to me very faithful to the original. The material is a very hard plastic and everything seems sturdy and well made. Congratulations to Behringer, we’re living in the “analog Renaissance”!
