Great bit of kit for the price

I bought two of these units and they've been great. Used both for live sound and splitting inputs between two live rooms in my old studio. Easy to pair with each other. Only bad thing I have to say is that the potentiometer for the monitor volume on one of the units I received was a little bit scratchy out of the box.

Great for the price

Decent little stagebox, preamps don't have a ton of gain, but they aren't bad and will be fine for the majority of live situations. Good compliment of features, including the ability to get extra outputs from ADAT (great for making stereo IEM racks). Plugged and played happily with our Wing, would happily buy another should we need extra inputs

Great sound and featuers

We have a number of these both in our studio and out on the road.

The pre amps sound lovely, big warm and oozing that Midas sound.

The interface is intuitive and easy to get used to and we have never had a problem with drop outs or connectivity issues. The stand alone function is a real bonus, and the ability to monitor input channels via the front headphone jack and adjust gain and switch phantom on and off from the unit is great in an on stage festival situation.

the only gripe if any is that the front panel is labeled up 1-16 for the inputs and 1-8 for the outputs which is fine for the first unit in the chain, but it would be lovely if Behringer could supply some magnetic number strips for 17-32/9-16. We made some from an old magnetic year planner!

Never again 200lbs copper multi cable!

Having bought two of these for use with my Behringer X32 mixer, I have permanently solved my biggest problems with signalling between stage and mixer, most often being the 200lbs, 50 foot long tangled maze of a multi cable that I have been struggling with up untill now. I have bought a couple of 2-unit Gator racks to put these stageboxes in, and so far it has proven a viable solution for my use (as long as no one steps on the Gator case). Combined with a couple of long ethernet cables, these two units have completely replaced the need for my old, heavy copper multi cable when on the move, e.g. using my X32 on live gigs. Since the S16s also use the same preamps as the X32, the sound produced is the same as if only using the analogue inputs on the mixer, which makes for several possible setups of preamps, both for studio recording and live sound engineering.

works well.. but..

Have two - works well, no issues and much better than dragging a big snake around. Only one small issue - one channel has now got an XLR body stuck, and it won't come out. It's a (mostly) fixed install, so it doesn't matter that much, but it's irritating in a new unit. It may of course be a duff XLR plug. but it's irritating. But don't be put off - this is an excellent unit, and I'm very pleased.
