Pretty close!

Right, it's a 3o3. We don't need to talk about the sound - if it's 3o3 sound you want, you get that here; check out sound examples online or in-store, completely ignore the weak "distortion"/"drive" combo and do what the big boys did, riding it hot into an old mixer; complement with overdrive/saturation/fuzz pedals to taste: voilà!

With the sound out of the way, how does she handle?

We're getting full-sized audio out and MIDI in and a combined out/thru, which I really appreciate after too many mini-jacks, and jack-to-MIDI-A, jack-to-MIDI-B adapters.

Programming her can be done in the classic way, or via software provided by behringer, which also takes care of firmware updates and such. I've only ever used the Widows version; it is functional.

Finally, you can send note events and sysex via MIDI, and have rudimentary control over accent and slide via velocity and legato playing, but of course no automated filter sweeping madness. This box wants to be used hands-on.

Combined with an MAM MB33 and a few effects for grit as stated above, this yellow box ticks all my ... boxes. I know there are successor models with more CV modulation capabilities and overdrive and whatnot, but I am very very happy with this MK1.

an amazing Devilfish mod clone

The TD3 MO is soo much fun an offers so much versatility over the TD3, but don't sell your TD3! The MO isn't a better version of the TD3 but actually has a different character and sound than the original TD3, I use tham together and they compliment each other Very well, the knobs on the MO feel better and are smoother to turn.

Aciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid

Bought this gem on impulse because I wanted to make some acid. I did work wih the original 303 and I gotta say this is pretty spot on. I've been wearing a tie dye shirt with a yellow smiley face for months now.

Analog 303 for this price? Awesome!

You just need to add the nicer distortion if you want ‘that’ classical acid lines. Because internal distortion working just well, but not insane good. Personally I using Markbass Compressore which is tube driven and makes exactly ‘that’ overdrive that I wanted from this little synth.

I have never tried original 303 and can’t compare face to face. But for my taste TD-3 working as flawless as you could expect from mighty bass acid VCO.

Programming is complicated, yes. But you could send MIDI over USB. Also Behringer’s native programming app working pretty well. I guess the best way is to program this machine from the main panel. But I need to read manual for doing it )

At the bottom line, I’m 100% satisfied with this purchase. Analogue, screamy, bright sound: what else do you want from this clone?

And yes, it’s made from plastic. It’s not sturdy, but am ok with it.

Mad machine

Everything you want from a 303 clone. Interface is identical enough that you can use existing tutorials that cover Roland's. Distortion sounds great, although it does attenuate slightly. USB connectivity is great, so you can use your DAW's sequencer if you don't get on with the built in. You can also use your computer to sequence the built in sequencer using a piano roll, which makes things easier. Using Behringer's software you can even save them onto the device,

If you love acid, get this. It is incredible

Of course, I would love to have a real 303. I did once, and my unit didn't sound as good as I wished. I learned years later the pots inside could be used to change max resonance, etc. I wish I'd kept it. I will always regret it.

Ok, so I dropped a $200 on this TD-3 with very low expectations. In fact, I was already using the ACB Roland 303, and thought it sounded great.

Now I have had a LOT of time with TD-3, mastered all of its quirks, and made a lot of recordings. This thing is amazing sounding. It is the best sounding 303 I have ever used and while I do wish it hadn't followed the 303's bizarre sequencer behavior, it is absolutely learnable and kind of fun once you get the hang of it. I couldn't be more enthusiastic about this device, and clearly for the price, you will definitely not do better. I love it so much I actually just ordered the MO version in the same acid yellow smiley face color.

Run, don't walk and buy yourself this iconic marvel.

Cheap little 303 clone

Great sounds, great features and a great price... Lovely entry level 303. Sadly I broke mine installing mods :(

Best bang for the buck

Really solid sounding piece of gear that definitely beats the overpriced boutique version.

TD-3 Pure Resonance

Definitely the piece of equipment necessary in a proper studio, professional, starting and for live performances. I've been using the TD-3 for different projects and I have to say that Its capacities are unique.

The sound quality better than what I assumed and It's the perfect piece for music production. Aiming to release on vinyl and It's happening thanks to the TD-3 too.

Tellement fun

Love the Sound hat the Sequencer

Great sound! The built in distortion plus a few routing options (you can mix 4 of the outs into the filter in if you want, but use a passive mixer!!). The sequencer is terrible as on the original. They should have implemented the new sequencer as on the boutique/plugin 303. Anywhays, with that sequencer you will get 99% happy accidents. If you ok with that, u gonna have fun! Recommended!

It's everything you'd hope it'd be but with added charm of the acid smiley

Pretty remarkable how much you can get for under £100 these days, I am well beyond satisfied with this one.

Fun and must have piece of gear

I got this as a birthday gift, I must say it's amazing. gone are the days of mouse clicking for programming and automating my 303. It took a little research and getting used to but the hands on experience is just so much more fun. The sound is also great and build quality is very good for only costing around €100.

Supersexy. I accidentally ordered this at a whim. I don't even like house music but this baby is always on, crying, screaming, blabbering and bonking in the background like 10.000 years ago. Todays sequencers are mama's boys, they don't have a life of their own, they don't scream if something is wrong.

Fantastic recreation of the acid classic

This feels like a very authentic remake of the classic 303. Sure, it is a very simple synth, its very lightweight and feels very plastic-like but that is exactly what the original is, which makes the Td-3 so great.
