A bargain Tube screamer that rivals the original!

This is the tube screamer, and not just any tube screamer, but the original one! There is literally no difference in sound whatsoever! The controls are familliar, and it works the same. Gain on minimum, level at maximum, tone in the middle for a boost, everything else for a good overdrive.

The build quality is like any other Behringer pedal of this range however and that means plastic all over with wonky connectors. The knobs are ok though. But for a approx. $20 pedal, it's no surprise, nor does it matter in this case because most people will have it on all the time without stomping on it too much (as a boost).

If you never tried a Tube screamer as a boost, this is the best one to get to see if you like/need a tube screamer in your life. It's affordable and the sound is (at least to me) indistinguishable from the real thing. Later, you might want to upgrade to a real one in case you need a sturdier pedal, but for a pedal that stays on and isn't stomped on, this one will last a while too!

It's amazing value for the price!

Tube overdrive?

This is a TS9 in a behringer enclosure. It's got the same features and same sounds. Use it to boost a fuzz, its magic.

Fabulous at this price point.

In my opinion it Just sounds really nice. Gives a very usable crunch.

Cons - very awkward access to the battery compartment, and made of plastic so won't be as durable as a metal housing. If it breaks, just buy another one!

super cheap and very good

for the price, it cannot be beaten, and suprisingly versatile. the only down is the power plug is on the side next to the jack input - what a silly design idea. the plastic case is actually great and the switch is super silent and smooth. The knobs feel a bit cheap - but are totally fine. It looks a bit like a frog, my gf loves it. me too.

Plastic?

Very good sound for any amount of money ,only using for home use so being plastic won't really matter , sounds as good as a mates (proper) tube screamer. £16.00 is nothing for a pedal.

Behringer Vintage Overdrive

I am very satisfied with this pedal. Doesn't blow you away but it's sounds really good, especially when you consider the price. 3 simple controls. I can really recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to lash out to pay for an Ibanez.

My only complaint is (as with any Behringer pedal) that the power input is on the side and not on the top end of the pedal. On a full pedalboard it's not very practical.

best rocky sound i've ever had

Even this is a cheap product, i bought it and i love it, i get that good rocky sound that i should get from it and i finaly enjoy sound of solos that im playing, also it goes good for bass, not for electric guitar only... you can control your sound on it as u want, and it doesnt make your guitar to sound realy loud when you plug it into your amp... I recomend this product for everyone!

Descent!

Okey, this is somewhat of a cheap clone of the TS808 or something. The construction is kinda weak compared to a boss pedal or likewise, but it works for home use and such, you might not wanna go on tour with it though ;-) It offers a level a tone and a drive controller. Function wise theres not much to talk about, it's easy to handle. Soundwise I'd say it works best with a low gain setting as a booster, it's got quite some humming when the drive goes up. Overall I'd say for it's price it works well if you don't expect anything beyond the price tag.

Okay for the price.

I bought this,as most will, wanting a tube screamer pedal for cheap.

The plastic shell feels sturdy enough, but if you are going to be using it alot, id advise using a PSU as getting to the battery is fiddly and the hinges will probably break with time.

The tone pot feels low quality when turning, very loose and a bit scratchy, however I can live with that.

Recently I have been using this in front of a Orange Micro terror head, and it really does come to life when used as a boost to the overdrive, really thickening up the higher gain register.

When I bought this it was £18, and if you can get one at that price, do it. However, I would probably recommend looking into the Harley Benton TS clone since they are now the same price.

Behringer TO800 Vintage Tube review

Great sound from a cheap box. The TO800 reassembles the classic screaming overdrive sought by many guitar players, and a crucial sound to have in your arsenal. The only downside to it is the plastic casing that is a bit boring, but it is reliable and the sound is great.

Good stuff

A tubescreamer style overdrive from Behringer. Three basic knobs: drive, tone and level. Does exactly what you want it to do.

The build quality is not the best, as you might expect at this price point. The case feels sturdy, but the knobs are a bit wobbly and the pedal is a bit loose and doesn't feel like it could withstand too much jumping on it. I've only had it at home so that's not a problem, but you might wanna be careful if you play live with it.

The sound is good though. Smooth overdrive at the lowest setting, all the way to a crunchy distortion at maximum drive. The tone knob sweeps from low to high, giving more emphasis on the desired frequencies. I think it sounds the best from 12 o'clock right to maximum. I haven't found the low settings too useful yet.

The price of this thing is so incredible for what you get. Great distortion for guitars, synths, or whatever you wanna throw at it.

The best Tube Screamer copy out there!

The Behringer TO800 Vintage Tube Overdrive is Behringer's version of the famous Ibanez Tube Screamer Pedal.

I have tried quite a few Behringer pedals, and this one easily tops the list. This stompbox sounds authentic and real. It covers a lot of sonic ground; from bluesy touch-of-overdrive to 80's hard rock sound.

Quality-wise the Behringer TO800 Vintage Tube Overdrive pedal doesn't impress. It is built out of thin plastic and the knobs feel wobbly and unstable. However, this makes the pedal a lightweight, which is nice.

If my pedal would break, I would get a new one right away. The sound this pedal provides for under 40 € is totally worth it, hands down.

bought out of interest because everyone wants the Tube screamer!?.BUT, be aware that this pedal was designed to push an already

I'm in my 60's and can remember the sounds created by the bands of that era!...and this is a sharp, biting sound which uses that same 'CHIP' as Ibenez and does its job well....until you discover the Behringer TM300 Tube modeller at the same price!.....which does it and other overdriven sounds a lot better with a lot more attack speed!...but, may require a Behringer NA300 noise gate?...if it has a CS400 compressor next to it!....d;-)

Great Value for Money

As you would expect, it isn't as well made as more expensive pedals. The construction is fairly solid but I doubt it would stand up to much abuse. The knobs on mine are a bit odd too. The level knob is very tight and considerably more difficult to turn than the drive knob, which seems loose by comparison. The tone knob seems to be somewhere in between the two in terms of resistance. This isn't a major issue but it does raise some questions about the construction quality. For home or studio use it shouldn't be a problem but I wouldn't use it for playing live unless I had a backup.

That aside, it sounds great. It's pretty much identical to a tubescreamer. I use it infront of a 6505 as a boost and it performs it's job of tightening up the low end and adding saturation perfectly. Considering it costs a small fraction of what you would pay for the tubescreamer it's modeled on it really is a bargain.

Good for the price

There's not that much I can say about this pedal.

I run mine through a VOX VT20+ and through it, it sounds alright but I feel that it is lacking in something that overdrive pedals should have.

Furthermore I feel as though its lacking in power.

Overall this as a decent enough pedal, it's great for if your still experimenting with your sound like I am bout I would think that over time most would outgrow this pedal.
