amazing Interface, has better latency management than interfaces 2-3 times it's price. midas preamps are neutral and it just works. no brainer.

I buy this sound card for connection to mono synth. It's small and can be put on every desk, shelf etc.

Wanted to upgrade my Focusrite 2i2 to a 2i4 for the midi function. The Behringer was ¤100 cheaper. Thought I'd make a gamble, and very happy I did. So far, solid construction, sounds great, midi latency excellent. Recommended.

Way better than price suggests.

We're using this soundcard as part of our live set up.Installing the drivers was easy and they've proven to be very stable.

It's of solid build quality and feels like it's going to last a good while.At this price point there are way more features than we need but it's good to have the options if need be.

For the price you get a huge bang for buck and if this one got stolen i'd buy another without hesitation.

For home use this would suit a beginner as it has some fantastic options to get you started and does sound good.

If you're after high quality recordings this isn't for you and you wouldn't be buying it anyway.

In conclusion for a hundred euro this is a steal as a starter s/card or a spare or to use live.I'm a fan!

Great value for the money

Sounds great! No issues with drivers or something else, while it has been used in many gigs so far. Highly recommended!

Solid Device, at a great price point

The UMC404HD is really well built. I use it in a home desktop scenario, but I imagine that it would perform well on the road.

I have a Rode NT1-A plugged into it, and it sounds totally crisp with no issues. The device has more I/O than you can shake a stick at, and it's performed admirably at all the tasks i've given it.

The only issue i've had with the device so far is that the software I use can only see 2 of the 4 channels, however this was fixed by digging around in the settings of that particular application.

All-in-all, it's a solid unit (In both senses of the word) at an incredibly attractive price point. I have every intention of purchasing it's sister unit the UMC 204HD for other uses.

everything i need for my home studio and more for a ridiculous price

Midas pre amps (yes the legendary MIDAS), zero latency monitoring via headphones. all the leds you need (signal, clip, phantom power, input and more) on front panel, all the controls also on ontrol panels (except the phantom power which should be on or off all the time so it doesn't matter), buttons like instrument/line for each input, padding all up front.

oh and you just plug the usb to your recording device (computer or in my case on the road iPad pro!) and it works, you have the option to plug in the power supply directly to the behringer, not to take power from recording device, but it's not a must. nice option. did i mention already it works perfectly with the iPad ?

4 combi inputs basically means it takes everything,

4 outputs: main out L, main out R x 2 (TRS and XLR) plus 2 groups of playback for two monitor sets (Stereo), plus inserts (compressors, effects) for all 4 channels, again wonderful for on the road. but also for my two monitor sets at my studio.

the price is ridiculous, but the quality is amazing. i like it much better than the alternatives (that cost 3-4 times as much). it's about the sound !

Best on a budget

Use.

To send midi to my Synthesizers and also to send audio to my speakers.

I bought this product for the specific purpose listed above. the fact it has 4 inputs is an added bonus , whilst i only need one to record my synth , it allows me to exude a bit of confidence if i ever find myself in a situation where i want to Multi track a band hehe xD

The product finish is very sleek and a smooth touch , having a monitor switch allows me to check my mixes on 5 inch monitors at ease while main monitoring is done on 8 inch monitors its nice to be able to get a change of opinion very fast .

- Budget friendly i was hard pushed to find a AI with this level of flexibility .

-Smooth finish.

-Led signal to show clipping.

Cons

- Knobs are slightly close together , doesn't bother me but just letting you folks know.

It does exactly what i need it to do and it does them well , Audio quality is also very clear very low signal or noise hiss etc. if your on a budget its hard to turn your nose at it offers a wide range of function at a soft price on the wallet .

Overall if you don't care about aesthetics (Not that it looks bad) its your go to for a band and audio monitoring at such a good price.

Works well

Preamp quality is excellent and so is the build quality. You can't go wrong with this line of products, they do the job well.

Definition of Value for Money

Using this for home recording, the main reason to go this over Focusrite is for the same price they offer only one input.

Both the DAC and ADC on this thing are great. Just listening to stuff on a pair of monitors or headphones is a bliss. Definitely on par with more expensive brand.

The preamps are quite good, a little noisy but for the money, short of amazing. All of the channels work properly. This is a USB compliant device so can work on any OS. Rocking it on Fedora with no issues.

Built very well, does not creak or squeak and looks very very nice. Probably the best recording interface to start with and 4 inputs are enough to record even drums.

Decent Budget Interface

Nice interface overall, great feel and build quality for the price. unfortunately has slightly more hiss on the input lines than ideal, but perfectly workable. Power over USB is very handy, and knobs all have very nice response. Combo TS/XLR inputs are also very useful. Overall, very good deal for low cost.

Amazing Choice

This is perfect from home recording, very very pleased when it arrived. I use it for Logic and Pro Tools and works very well. Had 4 separate inputs when plugged it in and it was just what i wanted. Very robust and very portable.

There was some hiss while i was recording, however when i played it back there was NO HISS what so ever. Also amazing preamps. I get amazing sound even from my dynamic mics.

Only minute issue was the headphone volume when recording wasn't great. While i was recording A.guitar and E.g i could turn the volume know it half way no problem. However when i wanted to record drums i had to turn everything up on logic and on the behringer to the point it was distorting in my headphones but at least i could finally hear it. Thats the only bad thing id have to say.

Overall amazing product especially with this price and all the features.

Great inexpensive interface

Great inexpensive interface for home recording and practice.

I used UMC404HD to record guitar using Atomic Amplifire, 2 xlr inputs simultaneously in stereo. Cockos Reaper works just fine with the interface.

Now I changed to Bias FX, the device also works great. The drivers allows to set latency < 5ms without any problems.

What I noticed is that only two channels can be recorded at a time, which is kind of strange, since there are 4 inputs.

The control knobs are smooth, the body is solid.

The great thing about the device is that it has XLR output to connect to monitor speakers with balanced cables, like real pro guys do.

It also has MIDI, so with MIDI controller one can use a laptop as a high quality sound processor even on stage.

This product is the definition of value

This product is VALUE in a great package! It sounds absolutely amazing I mean it sounds better than my guitar amp.. There is NO static and I am so excited to finally get this piece of equipment. The Midas preamps are absolutely amazing especially with the Wavedrum, I mean echoes sound completely different than on my Xonar DGX audio card. Setting the card was easy and controlling it is really easy, the craft of the unit is beautiful, it is compact and feels solid, knobs are exactly the right tightness and the quality seems consistent. Cons would be only 1 48 volt phantom power button so I dont think I can use a microphone with other instruments unless I use a mixer with phantom power and then output that into the UMC404HD. But thats not a big problem.

Get one if there is any in stock, this is simply amazing. I'd pay 200? for this EASY. I'd highly recommend getting this if you need an interface, its the best buy I did in a long while. Setting is up was easy and fast and it has been an absolute delight to work with. 111 euros for 4 inputs with great preamps and midi in/out interface? its just unbelievable how good value this product has.

Great device

Great design, quality and workflow. Plug & play.

And 50 - 70% cheaper than other 4 IN / 4 OUT USB audio devices.

For the price this thing costs it's really an unbealivable machine, with all the hardware features it has.

It may not sound as loud as others audio interfaces in the market but that actually leaves you more room to add the sound characteristics you want, with the right software, and you can eventually make it sound as good as any other.

Best interface in this price range for sure

If it's still discounted to ¤111, just get it.

Amazingly priced 4-port interface. I mean, it's ¤250-300++ value for ¤111 as of this writing. So this discount is just simply amazing.

I use it with (front-port 1) Vocal dynamic microphone + (front-port 2) Passive Electric Guitar + (front-port 3) Active Bass Guitar + (front-port 4) + Drum dynamic microphone + (MIDI back-port) Keyboard + (front-monitor input) headphones. I use two sets of stereo speakers for which I get separate channel output for in the back (i.e. I use a 2x2 combination).

I use it generally with Windows 10, FL Studio. Haven't had a problem with standard drivers yet. When connected to a computer via USB, it doesn't need any adapter power. But, it can also be used without a computer, so use an included adapter for that.

USB can be set to minimum latency of down to about 5 ms (I think I've heard less, like 3 or 4, but FL Studio shows 5 ms), and I haven't had a problem with that.

As I use a dynamic microphone, I didn't need to use the included 48 V phantom power function, but there is only one button. I know some would like separate buttons, so there's that.

Value for money.

I was looking at buying a Focusrite since I've heard their drivers are the best and the latency is awesome. After coming across this for 3 times the smaller price i decided to give it a go.

I use a Windows 10, which shouldn't be a problem but the drivers didnt want to start the setup, ended up trying 50 ways to install, in the end i mounted their setup on a ISO file, and installed manually through the device manager. Wrote a mail to the support, opened a thread on forum, still no answer, dont bother with that.

Now the sound, is a completely different thing, its super good, the preams are cool, 192khz sounds sweet. I noticed no one writes their latency in a review so here's my result with ASIO4all, i got less than 3ms input and less than 3ms out, which is about 5,70ms latency overall which is great.

It could use a individual switch for 48v, but other than that it's cool. Feels very sturdy, not plastic, even the knobs turn very nicely and the buttons feel very smooth.

Overall i'd buy this over the focusrite anytime due to the price alone, it gives it a run for the money!

Just right for my project

I've been creating music for 7 years.Always for my own pleasure,nothing professional.Never had opportunity to try nor could i afford to buy one of recommended audio interfaces

out there.Half a year ago i saw umc404hd and of course first thing that was interesting to me was price and number of inputs/outputs .It was all perfect for my home studio project where i needed 4 inputs for me and my band.Its also bundled with free daw,so i gave it a chance.

And i didn't regret.

Pros :

-On my windows10 pc its plug and play,all works,just set it as recording device and thats it.

-Sound is clear ,neutral,crisp .Loud enough preamps gain on about 60 percent no need to increase at least for me,no noise or artifacts etc.

-Preamp for headphones is also loud and i use it all the time when monitoring vocals and listening to music.

-Its powered via usb and there was no need for plugging in power adapter which also comes with interface.

-its well built,feels expensive and durable,buttons responsive and it has led indicator for when its turned on and another one when phantom power is on

-takes soo little space its almost twice smaller than it seems on pictures and it fits perfectly under my pc monitor

Cons;

- Phantom power button is at the back and it powers all xlr 4 inputs ,it would be perfect if there were separate buttons for inputs but its ok.

All in all :

For the price i just couldnt find anything better and i dont need anything better,it does all i need and i does it well!!.It sits in the corner taking little space and allowes me to record my music effortlessly.I would recommend it to anyone who decides to build affordable small home studio as i did
