Digital mixer
I have had the x32 a short while . My first use was with a kids show....using radio mics. I know not a great combination..but I was still able to use the x32 easily ...
I wish the kids were as easy :-)
x32 Behringer
Brings my whole studio together, quite easy to use, attractive bit of kit
LOVE IT
Revolutionary product
The X32 is not a sound console but its revolution !!! It's sound great and it has so many capabilities so there is no way to return back to analog mixing . As a small local rental company we have improved our sound and our services to our customers thanks to X32. Additionally by the use of two S16 digital snakes we can set up an event in a few minutes. We are excited !! THANK YOU SO MUCH BEHRINGER !!!
Over a year exellent service
I was amongst the very first to get X32 when it first came out. Very next three days I did gig on a small fifties-festival - three days and 15 bands - everything went super smooth. Since then two S16 got me rid of that horrendous bulky snake - now I can lift my snake with one finger - and power + DMX are included.
Later iPad-remote came along making life still better. Obviously it is very useful, when there is no decent place for mixer in the room - like when you have to mix from dj-booth or from the side of the room - so you can walk into middle of room wit your iPad. But perhaps best part is when you are doing monitors - with iPad in your hand it is very easy to tweak the sound to perfection right at the microphone - musicians will thank you for that.
I have rented this desk to others and it has been used on large festivals and small clubs and anything between. All customers have been very happy with it - even the ones who saw the desk first time in their life, when they came to pick it up for a gig - short demonstration and off they went.
I have also used it for recording. Setup was super easy - firewire to computer and that´s it. Orchestra was doing music in the style of 1920-40 and they wanted that kind of sound. No problem - some people have heard the final product and thought it was an old recording from before WW II ...
If one is using proper microphones and amplifiers and speakers with this desk, the results will most likely be highly satisfactory.
Behringer X32
All bells & whistles, my best buy bar none, the quality, power & dynamics of our rcf pa has excelled itself all thanks to the Behringer X32, the graphics, Fx, gates, compressors & ease of use, along with the online video supports are brilliant , couldn't praise it enough, & for the price :))
5 stars
this mixer will be a suprise to many people it is just gret for everything you throw at it :D
it takes a litlle to get used to but it is so simple to understand, perfect for life events with a big lineup... just save setings for everyone... efects are from behringers own factory and they do the job, the eq is maybe not the best but it does what it is supose to...
faders are great no problems here, the input and output and the routing capabilities are super, almost everything goes everywhere... i tried the ipad app over an external wireles router... no problems here, i think the ipad would have more problems than the mixer
its a good buy for small gigs and big, live and studio
Best Value for Features and Quality
We have been looking to change from our analogue mixing desk for some time and there is so much choice in the market. Although we had a generous budget we considered that after watching many videos online as well as Behringers website and Webinars that this was the desk for us.
You do have to study the manual! I guess it took us 3 or 4 hours to get things set up, but it's quite intuitively laid out so the learning is quite easy if you know how to operate a standard desk.
We were blown away by the sound quality and had many compliments on our sound. The best feature for us so far has been the ability to save and recall scenes - how easy this has made things. After setting up the first scene in the desk we setup 5 more scenes using a laptop and then syncing it back to the desk which is much easier.
The record 2 track quality is very good directly onto a memory stick.
This desk is a pleasure to use and very affordable.
The ultimate tool for small applications
The X32 is the best choice at 32 channel digital console. It is the best value for money choice.
More than perfect for the money given
The mixer has completely shut a lot of people mouths.
As for myself, a producer and technician working in a professional studio, I find it more than awesome for what it can give out. The sound is so flat (a little darker than from some other mixers though, but that's completely my style), that until you touch the EQs it actually sends natural sound to the output. The EQs are more than perfectly responsive, you can hear every turn of the encoders, and also see it on the display within a millisecond when you scroll... The sound of the EQs is awesome, but the gate/compressor sounds a little plastic on some instruments though... but their response and job is completely ok. Enough of gracefulling it, since it is indeed the best mixer I've seen lately under 15k€....
The fact is that I'm more satisfied with this one than with the sound of LS9, which can literally go hide itself even if it would cost 3k€, not to mention that it actually costs over 9k€....
What bothers me though is software limitations they give:
You can patch mixer inputs in a group of 8 - that's fair enough, if there are 8 input selectable boards inside. The problem gets in place when you simply cannot rearange inputs on the faders as you wish, but are presetted and cannot be changed. I also miss custom fader layer, which would be useful to put some auxes, fx returns along with the inputs on one layer, when not needed more than 16 channels. It's fast to switch, but confusing though...
Next thing are FXs that are installed. Most of them, when changing some settings, breaks the sound for half a second, with every encoder turn. (so you basically get popping sound of the channel if you're correcting some settings within the show...)
The next thing is channel linking - you can only link in pairs, and only in evenly channels. So you can't link 2 with 3, nor 6 with 7, but only 1+2, 3+4, 5+6.... And also, when linked, you can't have different gains linked, and can't put a phase reverse on one channel only... which is completely wrong, since in many cases you'd need phase reverse on one channel only, and therefore you can't link them...
What I miss is also EQ on FX returns, which should be implemented... :(
The DCA group layer can't be selected, (because it controls more channels etc, I get it) but still should have fader level shown somewhere!!! (I couldn't find it). It's also too bad that on the meters layer of the view, where you see all faders on the screen and their position, doesn't show an actual fader level in numbers/decibels as well. It would be more useful if I'd see the level of the fader, rather than it's position on a trackbar!!! So basically for each channel to see it's fader level precisely, I need to select it and see it for a channel only.
Also, the phones amplifier is bad. But then again, if we're talking about live mixer, it did the job 6 times so far and I'm more than happy to have it. Also, the usb/firewire 32ch card works like a charm! With a little higher latency I was able to record all 32 channels on a i3 4gb ram laptop on a field.
Perfect mixer in all views, except for some minor software issues, but they'll hopefully be repaired soon, as they're putting out new firmware from time to time..
A must-have thing! Don't even think of Ls9 anymore.. I'm more than serious!
Excellent mixer
Only used once so far but sounded stunning. Very clean open sound makes mixing a breeze. Shame the recording interface card was bust so its had to go back to get it fixed. Can't wait to get it back as it is so much easier that our analogue desks.
New standard price / quality
The best in it's price range! Preamps are really transparent (real Midas, as told, perhaps?), all digital processing works fine except tap tempo delays... probably a bug to be fixed in next firmware. Trully recomended.
GREAT MIXER
Good sound and a lots of easy to handle possibilities!
Game changer!
I was skeptical when i bought my X32. I never expected to love it but now it is my favourite bit of equipment in the studio!
The 7 inch display is very clear and so makes EQ-ing or adding effects a pleasure.
The "scribble strips" are a great addition, they have come in very handy. No more writing on tape!
The combination of Midas preamps, Klark Teknik EQs along with exceptional build quality make the X32 the best value digital mixer on the market. I would go further than just saying it's the best "value" digital mixer and say it's one of the overall best digital mixers out there.
The future is bright for Behringer!
Excellent
Amazing product at a great price.
I've been a touring engineer for a few years & had various Yamaha LS9/M7 etc with me.
After trying this desk it simply sounds better & has just as many features (Matrix/Aux's/Pan to mix etc).
I have done 30 shows so far with the X32 & S16s and had no problems.
I think this is the best product for the price right up until you get to Midas Pro1 territory.
Best digital desk at cheap price
Amazing desk for the price. I use for 10 piece band and its just amazing. Everything from the scribble faders to the reverb and eq controls. Highly recommend to anyone! Standing the test of time with only 1 fader breaking in a full year of shows.
