Best Ribbon Mic

Coles 4038 is best Ribbon mic ever. I borrowed them for a test and was absolutely delighted. I use them mostly as an overhead microphone on the drum. Definitely recommended as the first option when choosing a ribbon microphone.

The best overheads

I use them as drum overheads, but they are also fantastic on acoustic guitars.

human compatible

the first time i load them i thought i forget to close the door of the drum booth,incredible sound !

Many ways to use them.Need a good preamp to make them alive !

You may love them.

Even bad cymbals can sound great under these bastards. They will not sound like high quality cymbals, but they can sound great in their own way. Very dark sounding, so they're far from optimal for many sources. As overheads they are magical! Great for guitar cabs and some acoustic guitars too.
