Daddario EJ16-3D Reviews
Great strings
I use these all the time and will probably always use D'Addario.
cant go wrong with Daddario...
I've used quite a few different types of strings, but I still think as a 'standard' acoustic string, these are hard to beat. Personally I prefer them to the Martins.
Great all round string
Lovely warm tones, with great longevity make these my regular strings now.
Good value
Definitely good value. I use this strings mainly for strumming but I'm not very confortable with the sound lately. I remember the sound less bright a few years ago. Now in the process of trying other brands.
Pros: price/quality
Cons: it seems something changed in the materials that changed the tone.
I recommend this product for a normal use in practise or weekly gigs, better find a different sound for recordings or important gigs.
Great strings
Great strings at an affordable price.
Perfect acoustic strings
The consistency of these strings between different sets is very good, they hold tuning perfectly.
One of the best phosphor-bronze acoustic strings.
Great value
Practicing guitar daily, these strings let you pick up and go without having to fuss. They may not be the fanciest strings on the market but they are the best sounding most reliable, in my opinion.
PROS
very long life
good sound
good price
CONS
there are better sounding strings
Cheap and amazing sound
Sound was enhanced tenfold soon as I changed to these strings. Much more pronounced mids, which make the sound fuller and complete.
They last a really long time and do NOT lose their properties early on.
Comfort-wise, these are the most comfortable strings I tried on an acoustic guitar... I actually thought there was no such thing before I tried these :)
I really see no point in getting more expensive strings, these are top quality and I only use D'Addario on my electric guitars as well.
love them
i like the string great sound for the gigging musician
Excellent strings, amazing value!
I've been playing guitar for over 25 years and in my opinion, these are the best strings money can buy!
The sealed packet keeps the strings mint unlike lower quality strings in paper bags getting oxodised.
Even when on the guitar for a long time, they don't turn green and sound horribly dull like a LOT of other string brands out there. I've tried a lot over the years and always, ALWAYS come back to D'Addario!
These are beautifully bright with a crisp low end, and are very comfortable to play.
This is personal preference to a point, but some other brand strings I find feel too grippy or too greasy (those plastic coated, dull and slimey type - yuck) or don't bend without ripping your fingers off -- and this is nothing to do with gauge or guitar the strings are on, or bad playing habits in these cases.
These are simply great feeling and sounding strings. I play fingerstyle/tapping and these are ideal for that - every subtle harmonic shines through, but these would be great for any playing style.
They stretch to perfection almost immediately so no almost going out of tune once tightened and tuned initially.
Each string has a colour-coded end (and a key on the packet) so it's immediately clear which string is which, so that's a nice touch.
To top all that off, the price is excellent! Crazy good value!
Classics
I play majorly e-guitar, but my acoustic is also equipped with daddario's as on my electrics. Great brand, great strings.
Sound good but rust quickly
These strings are OK but I'm a bit disappointed at how quickly they rust and start sounding dull. Even when using Fast Fret. Better go for the 3-pack. They do sound nice while they last, though.
good sound
have used these for years... never disappointed
Fantastic, bright and durable strings. They really are my go to strings for acoustic steel string guitar. I have been using them for a number of years now and I am hugely satisfied.
The 3 sets in a pack is also great value if you are a gigging musician. I find they last longer than their competitors such as Martin. Not quite as long as Elixer strings but I find to my ear they just sound better. Which is the bottom line.
I have used them in both live and studio scenarios and they sound absolutely great in comparison to other string brands I have used over the years. My only criticism is they don't last forever. But no strings do. If only they did.
Great strings. Highly recommend!
The best guitar strings on the planet
These are in my opinion the best stings to buy. They last well, sound great and don't cost the earth. They have colour coded ball ends so identifying which string goes where is easy. They also come in one plastic bags so the packaging is kept to a minimum. There are fancier strings on the market which cost much more and claim to last longer. In my view, buy the D'Adarrios and just get used to changing your strings when they need it. That way you will have a consistently good tone and won't fret about the cost of changing your strings. They also come in multi packs which further reduces the cost.
Quality Strings
As with DAddario these were as consistent as ever. Great tone from these, I had a big supply of cheaper strings that i was using for a year and had forgotten how goof these strings are. They feel and sound much better and i will be sticking with these strings for a while now.
Daddario ej-16 3D
Daddario ej-16 3D is another great sting sett , i use these for My parlour Takamine guitar and just love The way they sound.
Have tried many different brands but alway got back to these.
Good Strings, Worth Buying.
These strings work well with my Baby Taylor guitar. They are the perfect width for it. I found that the average 54 gauge strings were too thick and began to damage the saddle of my guitar. The sound from the strings are crisp and offer tone and clarity. I found they rusted very quickly though, even more quickly than Martin M140's! This was disappointing for me. I still would recommend these to anyone looking for inexpensive strings of good quality. Especially to owners of Baby sized guitars. I'm happy with these strings, they are the best option for Baby guitars in my opinion.
Good strings, good value for money
I am using D'addario EJ16 since about 5 years on different acoustic guitars, and I am as happy as on the first day.
These strings have a great sound which lasts a very long time. Although my strumming is really hard and i play up to 5h a day (without amplifier) their sound lasts up to a couple of weeks.
Their color system to differentiate the strings is pretty simple and easy to get used to.
Also D'addario has a high standard on quality - so do these stings.
With the 3D packet you a good value for money, but if you plan on staying with these strings you should definitely go for the 10P packet - it's worth it.
High quality value strings
These strings last ages, tune well and sound lovely. I never use any other strings. Guitar manufacturers use them because they offer great sound. Lovely and a decent price too!
