Daddario EXL110-3D 5-stars Reviews
D'Addario's are all I ever use!
Consistent tuning... bright sound... been using them for years on Strats, Les Pauls, Teles, ESPs, Jacksons! Highly recommended!
The brand of strings dont matter too much but you will know when you get a bad brand. These are great and they are my go to brand of string due to their reliability. They last a long time and are not likely to break even with heavy use. They sound great from the moment they are put on
tough strings
i use them on my electric guitar, at gigs, & practicing a lot.
since i tried these strings, i have decided to stick with them.
don't remember having one break yet, they have gone 'dead' & been replaced before breaking, & i play heavy music.
rugged strings, & good value in this 3-pack set
i would recommend these strings anytime
My favourite strings!
I've tried all of the major string brands and always keep coming back to these! They always seem to last longer and I've yet to have any breakages before deciding to replace them. Nice clear, present tone and more high end than any other strings I've tried!
Sometimes, change is good
A few weeks ago, I had a string break which hasn't happened in a while though I knew I was pounding my set of strings hard; day in, day out I have been practicing and playing with a few buddies though my set of Ernie Ball hybrids (orange pack) took the beating well.
After which, I decided to try another brand of string and since I was listening to Guthrie Govan a LOT, I thought it may be a good idea to try Rotosound strings. Headed over to my local guitar shop, all they had were Roto 11's. I was contemplating for a good 5 minutes on what to do because I had a horrible experience with a set of D'addario acoustic strings and didn't want that to happen again...but I decided to tempt faith. Bought a pack of EXL110s, went home, and cleaned and set up my guitar as I do with each string change.
Once I put on that new set though, my guitar was SET! They have a different feel to them compared to Ernie Ball strings though I actually found them incredibly easier to play. The strings actually felt like they were ready to play right out of the pack and hardly needed any sort of stretching. They are a tad bright though at the same time have a VERY balanced tone which I liked. With Ernie Ball sets, a difference in gauge can be a difference in tone though the reason for buying hybrid sets (9s on the top, 10s on the bottom) was to accomodate my lead playing with the rhythm. Though with these D'addario strings, I felt like I didn't even need any custom gauges or hybrid sets.
I can't deny that my guitar setup didn't help though considering I adjusted neck relief and action again which helped tremendously though the tone of these strings has been consistent for close to a month now and I've been playing EVERY day for at least 2 hours.
I'd say D'addario did a great job and I must say that Musicians Friend has a great deal on here! Next pay check, definitely getting myself a 3-pack.
wow!!
For the price you can't go wrong, they are definitely the best I have ever purchased. I used them for several months.
Just right!
Use these strings with my Ibanez SA160FM-TGB as a practice guitar and just to jam and couldn't be happier that's why I always buy three packet.
Good Quality and value for money over any others out there for the same costs.
Would recommend for intermediate use and practice playing but not to heavy.
D'addario never disappoints
Lovely sounding strings and I am yet to have a string break. They last and only after a few month do I feel the need to change them. I know its time to change when tuning the G string and it just doesn't really tune right. The G string also starts to sound like a tin thrown on the road :)
Im not a touring player only at home but I do play almost daily. I change them every approximately 4 month.
Best value for the money is to get these 3 packs or more.
Daddario EXL110-3D's the industry standard
these are my strings of choice and the ones which I judge the quality of all others by...what more can I say.
works well on all scale lengths i.e. Gibson LP, PRS, and Fender.
great strings
I used to use various other brands and was put onto these by a guitar luthier and I will never change from these strings now. Always get a great tone & responsive feel from these. Pretty stable and settle in quickly, feel like finer guage strings, you get the benefit of heavier gauge without shredding your fingers.
For me the go to
They are what my guitar teacher used when i first started and after a few experiments they have been the go to for me over time. sound great and last long enough to be value for money
The standard
I'm a big fan of Daddario - the strings don't rust or break as soon as Ernie Balls or others and sound very even and with the right amount of brilliance. As they are relatively cheap, I tend to change them on my main guitar every four to six weeks depending on how many times I played it. This way I have a quite fresh sound all the time (it's better in an interval of four weeks compared to six - the brilliance does wear off).
Some could describe the strings as boring - to me they're the standard meaning universality in terms of sounds and overall reliability. Nothing fancy, just solidly working strings.
My favourite strings
You can't go wrong with Daddario xl's. I've never received a bad set, they sound great and last long enough for my needs. 10's feel great on a Les Paul/Gibson scale length, I like them on my strat too.
My go-to pack of strings
I've been using these strings for years now and I doubt I'll be switching anytime soon. The sound clarity in D'addario strings just isn't present with other brands I've tried on my guitars.
Still the best!
I have been playing the electric guitar for over ten years now, and these have been the strings I started on. While I have changed every other piece of equipment at least a dozen times, I have always come back to the Daddario XLs. There may be other strings that sound better at first, but then deteriorate more quickly. Or last longer with a slightly better overall sound, but cost three times as much (which makes a huge difference if you own more than a couple of guitars). Whenever I felt like experimenting, I have always come back to these. Best bang for the buck by far!
Great universal strings
These are my standard go-to strings as they possess the perfect balance: Not too expensive yet very nice quality. I've never experienced any problems with these strings. They are easy to play and last quite a while, though you should change them often.
Especially in a studio setup where you have to change strings regularly I always have some of these ready for the artists cause they often come with dead strings and fresh strings do make a difference.
Daddario EXL110-3D
I love these, after years of playing nothing but Ernie Ball Super Slinkys and not really thinking about strings I bought a Fender AVRI '52 telecaster, the seller had strung it with the Daddario EXL110-3D and raved about the strings.
I wasn't really paying attention to the strings but when I got it home and played it fir a while I realised it was a totally new playing experience, I haven't looked back.
They feel great, don't require as much cleaning and when they do they clean really easily and last much longer than my old Ernie Balls.
They stay also stretch in very easily, really just restring and tune and then a quick stretch on each string and they are good to go, rock solid tuning with them.
They are twice the price of my old strings but then they are twice the strings, totally worth it in my opinion.
My favourite Strings
These are my favorite strings that i use on most on my guitars. They seem to last longer than most other string brands for me and i love them bright tone they give. The price here for a pack of 3 is amazing. Each pack of strings is in its own individual packet inside the box.
Long lasting strings
We have been friends for many years Daddario Strings and I. They last well, are always consistent and feel good with excellent tone. If ever I change gauge of strings, or try another brand I save the Daddarios as spares because it would be a waste to throw them out unless totally played out.
